The Probe Droid Resin Kit Instructions Tread

Do we know the ID on this tube (with the hole)? I've searched the threads in IDs, but they've been heavily edited now.

Yes, it is a known part, and in the thread, one has only to read!
Its from a "gateway" kit too, so very easy to find, but again, the info is in my build thread!

Dave - I will send you the acrylic soon, then. You've been a great help and it's my way of saying thank ya!

Matilda Part #38 - the casting of the head I have had an air bubble, so I'm going to replace it. So if you guys want to do the same - Tamiya 1/35th Matilda part #38.

Funny enough, it was a PM from a friend, lol! It's totally one of those parts you can look at directly and not "see" it until the stars align.

I did check your thread, and around page two or three you guys reference the part, but everything's been edited and there are contradictions in the 40 pages, it's a little frustrating for the reader. But thank you, yes, for the positive valuable contributions you make to the studio scale forum. Working together, we all make this a better hobby!

Yeah, its nice to have ID hounds on the case to document info, its what we love to do Jason, we do make the hobby more accesible for those who cant ID, or struggle to find the time, so agreed, it works out very well!

So when you want to add a mount, and don't want to use a Panavise, a gas pipe is a good solution. It not only offers strength, but is an easy conduit for wires and power cords. For the smaller models, the now-antiquated 1/4" pipe is perfect. 30 years ago, it was easily obtained (and was used primarily in gas light fixtures), but now a days, is really hard to source unless you want to get it delivered (for a small fortune) or have an old mom and pop shop that has old stock. I have just that kind of shop available, and the owner was thrilled to sell me most of his remaining stock. He even cut and threaded it for free, and did a much better job than a kid would have at Home Depot. Try asking a Home Depot or Lowes for this stuff - they just stare blankly and say "we got 3/4" - is that it?

So anyway - 1/4" gas pipe - PERFECT for this model. Cast resin fits like it was designed for the fittings.

Here's the store - I wouldn't be surprised to find a Balance Pipe or Viscount Reading Light in those aisles, lol!

Oh - and it'll run you around 1/4 the price of a Panavise mount for the pipe length (I have an 18" section and a 24" section to try out visually once the legs are attached) and both flanges.

I know they have more... it sounds crazy to ship one to your neck of the woods, but as a last resort, if you can't fine one, I'm happy to! I'll make it a care package too... send you some bullets from Baltimore, or something apropos. Heh :lol

Hey Jason, just a heads up on the 1/4" pipe.I'm in the HVAC field in N.J. & have no problem getting it from a plumbing/heating supply house. We don't use it for gas but oil.Maybe this info will help others find it ?

Back at ya! We gotta be careful with this bromance fellas, as this is getting into "Care Bear Stare" territory.
