The PERFECT John Williams "song"

I hope the love for JW will prompt some of you to explore classical music. He really "borrowed" a ton of material that I think you would love as much. Give it a chance.

I second The Cowboys overture.

"Anakin's Betrayal" from the ROTS soundtrack. Best piece of tragic music ever to be created, IMHO. Definitely my fave but there are o so many beloved themes that he created. He is the master of the epic movie soundtrack.

Mine would be
1. Raiders March
2. Imperial March
3. Star Wars Opening Theme
4. Superman Theme

Can't possibly disagree with anything that has already been said and the pieces cited...and yes, there have been many scores in which Williams has sort of "phoned it in", which is to be expected, the Wells of Creativity are only so deep...but I have to place his outSTANDING themes and score for "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" and "Prisoner of Azkaban" among his very best in recent years. There's not one note of "Sorcerer's Stone" that I don't love intensely and his music for "Azkaban" is one of his most original and experimental.

I don't know if it's 'perfect' as such but I can't help but get goosebumps every time I hear Battle of the Heroes from Star Wars Episode 3. Say what you will about the prequels but at least we got 3 films worth of John Williams awesomeness out of them.
