The One Week BBTF Costume Project

In one week im going to Universal Orlando Resort. I live in Tampa so im only and hour away but for some reason im really excited for this trip. (mostly cus the Wizarding World) So when I do things I tend to go all out so I've decided to wear a costume.
Marty Mcfly circa 1985.
Just for fun. Bring a little BTTF back to Universal. So for those who shoot for screen accuracy, this might be and eyesore. Its all on a budget and I only have 6 Days to do this.
Ill post pictures of the progress.
Anyone that knows of some good "close enough" substitutes would help greatly.

Some thrift stores and maybe REI should get you just about everything you ned for a close enough. Might be tricky to find some of the acid washed denim and the shoes. Looking forward to pics though.

I'm of no help on Mcfly, just wanted to say please report back on WWoHP....
I was just in FL for the shuttle launch 5-14 and was so hoping there would be a soft opening, but never happened cry:cry
At least got to see the spires from the road.....
We made a side trip through Tampa/St. Pete.....lovely place, it is.

Getting the Nikes new is a problem. They don't seem to do the bruins any more, and even the white trainers don't seem to have the red swoop! (What is the deal with that BTW?)

The casual observer isn't going to notice the details that many of us RPF'ers will notice right away. I'm a fan of the movies, but I wouldn't say that I know the specifics of the costume.

I'm just doing this from memory, and as long as you have white high-top Nikes, blue jeans (acid wash would sell the costume, but probably not necessary for a quick costume), a purple-ish/blue t-shirt, white oxford with dark cross stripes (hopefully you'll find something close!) suspenders, and an orange vest-- you'll turn several heads and get several more double-takes!

Don't over-think or sweat the details, especially since you're in a hurry. Search the thrift stores for the shoes, shirt, suspenders, & vest. You can fine-tune the costume in the months ahead if it's something you want to stick with. Just have fun. I'm looking forward to seeing the pics too!

I'll definitely report back on WWOHP. Probably gonna get a good 1080p ride video.
The shoes really are a problem. Thursday...tomorrow. Im going shopping for some Nike's. White is fine. I could sharpie the red swoosh.
Oh and I'll post the reactions of people. Im gonna go sit and mels diner. Just like in BTTF 1. At the bar all fuzzled. If the bartender asks if I want anything: Just a Pepsi
