I did this once as a prosthetic and made it just the "mask" portion. The problem is that the mask is designed to only cover the skull area/cranium and look very skeletal. That being said, it doesn't cover the back hairline. If it where to be made that way as a silicone mask no matter who wore it there would be a LARGE amount of hair sticking out from under the back, hair from the hairline, meaning it couldn't even be folded up under the mask...
The original prosthetic on carrey was foam rubber like I did my first time around. To cover that hairline, the prosthetic was extended down and glued in just under that hair line and then color blended to his skin to look like the back, exposed portion, of his neck.
NOW, this could be done on this as well but would be a damn near impossible task for people to glue on and color blend every time. The goal in the mask I'm working on (SCULPT STARTED BY THE WAY) is to have the wearer simply be able to put it on. These will require a little bit of green coloring for around the eyes but that's it. I'm trying to make it as simple as possible to slip on and off meaning I have to split the difference in some areas of the design... I hope that makes sense and I'd be happy to answer any questions. I'll copy and paste your last post as well as this one into the interest thread. Thanks for the interest and I'll keep you updated!
