So all you guys dissing this already have been to see it, right?
Or are you just jumping on the Brie Larson/Marvel hate wagon?
When people post things like this:
View attachment 1760225It seems like minds are made up before even watching something for themselves and they are just on the anti Brie Larson/Marvel bandwagon.
Everything you said is valid. I wasn't trying to be hateful as much as I just thought it was something funny to post. I do plan to watch this film in the theater with an open mind.
I actually don't hate Brie Larson as Captain Mar-vell, but I do think the writing of her first film was a disservice to her. Marvel's Captain Marvel is a pretty stoic character as written in the comics. Brie's portrayal is actually consistent with that, but people who don't know the comics aren't going to appreciate it. The comic book Captain Marvel is a cosmic figure that was never meant to be relatable. That's not Brie's fault.
Vellani as Ms. Marvel is surprisingly endearing in the television series. I like her even though I never had interest in her character in comics.
Parris as Rambeau. I liked her as a character in WandaVision before she had superpowers. After that she was pure cringe. In most superhero "origin" stories a human acquiring superpowers is supposed to be a platform for character growth. Rambeau getting her powers did nothing for character development. It was just awkward.
I am always looking for evidence of hope that Disney's MCU might be turning the corner because I grew up with these characters.
Anyway, I didn't intend to offend. Sorry if I did.
