The culmination of a lot of hard work over the last few months, I’ve been fortunate to have collaborated with a few amazing artists using some incredibly unique and not-seen-before reference to create this blaster. Right now I’m simply press fitting my test prints with the ultimate aim being to have the flash hider machined in aluminium, and the cleaning rod to be machined brass. The finishing will also be done to screen standards, more to come!

Looks killer already Joe! I’ve been waiting for someone to nail the proportions and you’ve just gone and done it.

Can’t wait to see this thing finished up.

Thanks so much J! It’s been a great, fun project and definitely worth the wait to get it right! Should be able to show off the grip prints soon and then they will be getting re-made by CNC in wood, as per the hero As always your input has been a great help, so thank you.

A bit of a closer look at the profile of the blaster, and some of the detail parts, these are all separate as on the original gun.

If you want to outsource the grips, shoot me a PM! I'm doing JOATRASH FX's grips, and have done them for a few other modelers as well.

Looks good so far! The never-before-seen reference material is intriguing!

Thanks for the offer, I may take you up on that even though this won’t be made into a run, this is purely a personal project for me and the guys who have worked on it with me.

Nothing to show at the moment but the flash hider and grips are being looked at for CNC machining. The body of the gun is largely together and tomorrow I will post up a shot of it with the resin grips. Still debating with myself whether to make the cleaning rod out of brass or leave it as a plastic piece, the hero gun did not have a metal rod and I want to keep this as true as possible. Hope everyone is staying safe and sane!

Resin grips are in, the chamfers and details look great! I’ll post a few better shots tomorrow fitted to the main blaster body.

Here are the grips fitted, along with a first pass at clean up of the main gun, really happy how the proportions match up to the reference, this is the way!

A little closer look at some of the details, the hero blaster has 2 slotted countersunk bolts which hold on the lower grip detail, this is also a separate part on this build and the hole positions were marked out on the original model, as shown here. Hope everyone’s staying safe and staying indoors!

The final parts have been printed and test fitted, the cleaning rod and hammer. The cleaning rod separates in the middle, just on the edge of the clip, as it was on the original, these will be reproduced in urethane resin. Next up is to start experimenting with different stains on the wooden grips and then beginning some test painting.

Looking good. I like the oak medium better. If I could change one thing on my build it would be the stain I used. It’s a bit darker than I wanted.
