The Last of Us HBO Joel Thread

No no, trim on my watchface.
Ah gotcha. As far as the hands go, are you experimenting with the movement in your mod?

Those hands are pretty darn close. But it sucks to know AT doesn’t even know what they are because they did it in Calgary.

I'm really curious. You guys know how I did that little laser etched emblem for my flashlight? Well, it's a little piece of sheet aluminum, with laser etching over a black coat.

I wonder.... if I measure the exact watch dial of the 38 mm against my current emblem, laser etch the Joel watch watch face (all the markings, hour etc) to the laser etching piece, and then fill in the etching with white paint, or even lum (I think i can be possible, like how you would put grout in tile; just put it on top, then squeegee it over the holes), you could have a legit watch face that would fit right in.

You would need to drill a tiny hole for the movement hands though - nothing a little gauge couldn't do.

Ideas? Or is there a less complicated solution? You think anyone on Etsy could do a watch face?

I have the 38 and the 40, face sizes respectively are 32mm and 34mm. If you make an etched face I would love to buy one from you.

I’ll keep you posted. Might be worth it to just do a big batch of custom dials from somebody who makes them.

Does anyone have a watch dial contact?

If we can source someone who can make them exclusively for 40mm and 38mm Timex Weekenders (which is the screen accurate watch case), we’ll be solid!!!

Hello! A few people here bought the river island denim shirt. Can you please post the actual shirt measurements, preferably pit-to-pit, across the shoulders, sleeve length, and top to bottom length?
Im trying to decide if I'm a medium or large

If you normally wear a large, get a large. Medium, get a medium. It fits perfectly.

Thanks! I believe ive seen mixed comments on the sizing
Others had said that it runs long/big and that if you prefer a slim fit to size down. So thats why i figured I'd at least ask for the measurements.

I think what they mean is they are saying that it feels like it runs long in the length in the front. It fits properly. So that when you lift up your arms, the bottom of the shirt doesn’t expose your stomach.

If you’re at least 5’8”, and wear a large, get the large - but if the length concerns you, you can get it adjusted a little.

Are you planning on dying it with Rit Dye?

If so, try to follow this chart for color. I’m thinking the periwinkle for the row marked in red for cotton.

Been planing on buying the flint and tinder jacket but since I don't like in the US, I need to be sure I get the right size.

Have anyone any bought the jacket and could share their experiences?

My details
Weight: 194 lbs
Height: 6"
Chest: 41 inches
Hips: 38 inches

According to their chart I should go L but some people say it runs small. I wouldn't want it to fit too big.
I'm quite athletic built with broad shoulders, circumference of approximately 50 inches.

Nothing new, but I finally got the Timex Weekender 38 mm in hand with the Amazon strap referenced.

Can definitely say this is the one! Can’t wait to start modding.

The raised ring around the edge comes off pretty easily. Any leads on an etched dial?
Oh yeah I was worried about that ha.

So actually, the laser etch plate is still a little smaller than what the dial is.

Can you upload a photo of the dial size width with a caliper?

I’m trying to see if I can just get the birthday hands 3D printed with resin. I need to measure out the hands though.

If anyone is really good with making .stl 3D models we could make the birthday hands!

Remember, the holes for the movements are minute hand (.70mm) and the hour hand (1.20mm).

I just realized something. Once you remove the movement, and then the face plate of the dial, you can't just throw the movement in lol.

You have to get a movement holder, BUT, I have no idea where or how to get one for the movement in question.

Does anyone know what movement holder could the AL55 fit in inside the 38 mm Timex Weekender?

I can't believe I didn't think about that last screenshot. WELL DONE.

I was surprised we didn't get it sooner!! But that helps so so much. I found a guy who does custom watch movements holders, but it costs a little..... If I can pay him for the .stl file, I can 3D print my own lol, and then send them to you guys.
