The Last of Us HBO Ellie Thread

So, in an asinine revelation, I realized something.
They used a plastic zipper, and a metal zipper slider.

Per PacCana:
"The zipper slider on the attached picture is meant for coil zippers and will not work on a plastic tooth zipper.
You will need a slider for plastic zipper (link here: Nonlock Plastic Sliders) However these are not backwards. We do have reversible (link here: Reversible Sliders for Plastic Zippers)"

Do any of you have Zipper knowledge? I dont know what the heck all this lingo is ha.

I'm convinced that what we see in the photos from the show are the real deal, but I guess they frankenstein'ed it?

But hey! At least we know that the zipper is from them.
Maybe they just Used the zipper pull for some reason? You could just get a plastic zipper then replace the pull

Any update on the 4k stills?
Yes!

So I got some good news and I got some bad news. The good news is, the stills are amazing! Some of the highest quality screenshots you can get. The bad news is, I have to spend a lot more time combing through every shot to pick a part and take screenshots of said frames. I’m gonna have to spend a few hours going through episodes to get the best frames possible.

Is there anything from Ellie‘s wardrobe here that you guys need screenshots for?

So, given that the buckle is 1 inch nylon webbing, I was able to use that to gauge the dimensions of her backpack for the back section.
Seems to be that the back section pocket is a 10"x10" cube. I'll be using this to help my backpack guy create a pattern, along with deconstructing that Jansport, which comes Monday.

I need to do one more check, but it looks like I can get by with the 8" zipper from PacCana (or 10" if it's not long enough). But this helps!
I also surfed around and it looks like the smaller pocket back zippers (the twin zippers at the back) are PacCana, but since her other bigger zippers for the main enclosures are head-to-head style zippers, it appears that they are not PacCana, as they do not offer head-to-head (I could be wrong on this, so i'm waiting to confirm from them.
I don't think that these zippers are plastic zippers - that would be too weak for this type of backpack application. They have to be nickel or brass or aluminum - something metal.

Unfortunately, there is no knowing, so it would probably be best to just got with a metal option.

I stand corrected. They used plastic zippers for the main enclosures. Maybe it was cheaper, but definitely weakens the opening more.
*scratches head.

Just to give some context, I am still in the first 25% of Episode 2, and I have amassed 20 high quality still of her pack.
Like, in some shots of Ellie, I can make up the texture of her hoodie. It's going to take some time, but these are going to be great.

Will be posting a G-Drive Folder of all Ellie’s backpack stills.

Dude amazing work!! you really went all out on the sizing in the previous post I am thoroughly impressed! As for the main big pocket I think it would be best to be a metal zipper if anyone want to actually use the bag heavily, or if you can find the right plastic zipper and it be a heavy duty one or something

I think you know my answer about the big pocket zipper hahaha
I feel like I can make it happen with the plastic.
I'm going to order a bunch of different sizes.
More than likely, it's their Plastic Open End Zipper #5 or #8 in Black, with the nonlock Plastic Zipper.
This is going to be amazing once I get everything.

I still need to source the right material for the backpack.
To make it functional, they more than likely used 600D Polyester with Polyurethane under coating - to give it that water proofing.

If anyone can help me source the Polyester fabric that would be helpful.
Need to get it color matched.
I think it's definitely navy blue, but not sure yet about the green.

I don’t know if this will be helpful or not but i tried to edit the image a while back to get the right color and this is what I came up with

Also!

Just like I posted in the Joel thread, here are the folders of the items I am trying to get screenshots for.
It's taking a moment, but let me know what you all are looking for:

One thing I am not sure of is the headphones, I don’t know if those are original or not.

Another Piece of Ellie’s wardrobe it is only seen once, is her Fedra trainee hoodie. The text is just a basic military stencil can be easily found just can’t remember the name right now
