The Incredibles

I get "Mister Incredible" and "Elasti-Girl" and "Frozone"...

...but where does "Syndrome" come from? Was Pixar trying to make some sort of point about the symptomatic nature of fanboys? That too much love turns you evil? What?

All I know is, that they cast the wrong guy as Syndrome. Despite that, it's still Pixar's best!

I've been sweet on Donal since Just Like Heaven. And you know how much I loved Terriers. It's a crime that show's not still on.

From wikipedia:
"In medicine and psychology, a syndrome is the association of several clinically recognizable features, signs (observed by a physician), symptoms (reported by the patient), phenomena or characteristics that often occur together, so that the presence of one feature alerts the physician to the presence of the others. In recent decades, the term has been used outside medicine to refer to a combination of phenomena seen in association."

So, one could theorize that Buddy Pine (another hint) has codependency issues, rejection issues, and various psychological complexes that combine to make one pissed off persona. He becomes the disease to infect the other supers, leading to their ultimate demise.
This disease is "cured" once the Incredibles are able to recognize the signs, symptoms, and phenomena (gear, island, equipment, motivation, weapons systems) that make up the Syndrome and overcome them.

So yes, he's the ultimate fanboy, perceived as a disease. ;)

Didn't Pixar throw in some sort of redemption twist, though?

I love how much Syndrome looks like the director Brad Bird.

I've always been amazed by the Ayn Randian themes the movies confronts. Some pretty heavy concepts to explore in a kids flick.

Brad Bird also plays with some of the same ideas of individuality and self empowerment in Iron Giant too.

Interesting stuff.

That is friggin' spooky, man. Seriously, a Cars sequel but not The Incredibles? Pfffft

SERIOUSLY !!!!!!!!!! :angry

LOVED The Incredibles and am still PO'd they have
yet to consider a sequel !!! Of all the flicks they have
done that one just begs for a follow up with the
Incredible Family growing up!

Or we should just suck it up and realize that they are doing what the CHILDREN enjoy, not just us adults. I still wants, but am prepared to never see it.

And after thinking about it I don't know
what kinda' money they would have to shell
out for Holly Hunter ?

I know it was in the news that the one reason
Saving Grace got nuked was
because she got to be too
expensive of a paycheck ! :lol

Well, she is a piece of eye candy for a Hobbit, plus she can act. Her range is hampered by her accent, but she still has chops.

That was a great movie, and one of the best James Bond movies ever.

I hope they don't do another until they have a great script.

I loved the movie too. I saw it in the Theater. It was that one or Polar Express. Not that I'm dissing that one. Both are awesome movies.
