This is a really cool piece of artwork from the 2005 film that, to my surprise, has never really had much of a look-in. Around the front of Zaphod's Heart of Gold spaceship, and around the button that controls the Infinite Improbabilty Drive on the ship's console is a pictorial recreation of the history of the drive, as described by Douglas Adams in the various media that Hitchhiker's has appeared in. I bought the "Making of" book, hoping to find the art reproduced, but found only parts of it. I think it would be really cool to have as a print, or I intend to print it onto a cup and saucer set (with the actual button design on the cup) in a way I think Douglas Adams would have approved of.
Here are a few pictures of the prop button:
Here is a scaled up, poor-quality version of the image from the "Making of" book.
The larger version of the image that I have so far been able to put together.
And one other part, taken from the DVD.
That's all I have. As you can see, one part is still missing. I only have the photo of the prop for that.
Perhaps someone better with photoshop than I could put this back together for everyone to enjoy?
