I started this about 4 years ago and had to put it on the back burner because I started another job & moved 1/2 across the country, and kept taking paying builds, but it will get finished..... It will be lit with fiber optics and LEDs.

There are 4 hangar bays, 1 in the top, 1 in bottom, and one on each side, all connected in the center...

you should build it with the gaping hole the Sun Crusher put through it, and set it falling into a black hole in the Maw as a diorama.

EDIT: Wrong ship, got confused, keep being awesome!

I started stringing some fiber optics to the bridge section before I get too far along. I have to finish this step before I can close it up and continue detailing anyway. The entire model uses 40 12v pre-wired LEDs. Using the power supply below, I could potentially run 112 LEDs in parallel, but I don't need quite that many. I have 20 white, 15 blue, and 6 teal. The blue are for the engines and the teal I will use to flood areas along the waistband sections that run down the middle of the ship. So far I've got nearly half of the bridge superstructure lit. It is going to be a long road, but I can work on other parts when I get tired of stringing fiber optics. There are currently 2 LEDs inside this 1/2" styrene tube. When I get to organizing these, I'll be using 1/2" aluminum tubing. I probably could get away with 1 led per side for this section, they are bright! I also have a nice rocker switch for a computer that I have to wire in somewhere and hide on the model or the base.

Also got pics of my little freighter for the lower hangar bay. It is just a bomb from 1/32 Corsair plus 2 RCS bases from the big Apollo, some hubcaps from a 1/32 VW Beetle and some other stuff. For paneling I'll do the tape and primer trick.
