Pirates of the Caribbean's largest prop being retrofitted. This is when it arrived in Hawaii!

Not to sure how this dude got this up close to the Pearl unless he is somehow connected to production!

What have you done with my ship! Stop taking it apart!

The last few scaffolding pictures of the Pearl are from April 6th. I believe the movie is in full production now folks, savvy?

Red is primer and the under hull of the old diesel barge vessel.

The red looks like new paint to me. See in one of the pics the scaffolding, with the rigging pulled away so they can paint under it.

Are they redoing the whole ship? What happens to the parts that are taken off???? IO would so want one of the sections with the cool carvings if they don't re-use them. Awesome home theater decor!!

Holy Pirate Ship Jack! I think you are correct Rob! How come I didn't notice that!!! Look at the scaffolding above the Captain's quarters! I thought that they were just building it for maintenance. You have a very sharp eye my friend! This means........WOW!!! The Wicked Wench!!! NICE!!!

Which would suggest a prequel, no?

Back story is that Jack had the WW, which was sunk, then risen by DJ and re-christianed as the BP, right?

So how are they going to make Depp look like he's 30!?

I realize that there are people here who are super sensitive about spoilers, but how are pictures of the 'ship' spoilers? You've seen the ship in 3 different movies. Is the rebuilding of the ship giving away a plot point or something?

I will never understand that either, but apparently some are touchy about it. I guess that's why I won't star a thread about watching Predators ( the one coming out in July) last night..

Dudes! I am just protecting myself and me mate PHArchivist from getting beyatched slapped with a Spoiler complaint. That is all!

Neither of us would prefer to appear before the mast! Tongue lashings are not good.

And besides knowing that it is still OUR rumor (Rob's to be exact) it has not been confirmed but all construction points in that direction.

I would have to say a flashback. Perhaps all other Black Pearl filming will take place in Los Angeles where they have three complete mock ups of the ship. Touch up with CGI! They will be filming in Los Angeles as well.

In this case it is, because they're transforming the Pearl into another ship altogether. So this thread is a Spoiler that the movie has a) no Pearl and b) a new ship.

Not biggies, but yes, they are technically spoilers.
