The Force Awakens Trailer

It's on the official Apple website for movie trailers http://www.apple.com/trailers/ so yes, the one linked here in this thread is real.

As for the saber, it's extremely impractical. Like Unfated stated, the lightsaber guards would cut up your wrists when performing certain moves. They need to be shorter and angled up more towards the blade. Not to mention that they need to NOT be made from a form of energy that can slice through flesh like a white hot knife through room temperature butter!

The first thing I thought of when I saw the helmet.......Buck Rogers.

It looks cool and lame.....motorcycle helmets for the stormtroopers....a light saber/crusader sword....R2 type droid is a ball with a floating dome.....and for the first time in history we see a TK with his helmet off and he's a black guy....no that's not racist....it's called political correctness....lame.

I couldn't see JJ showing a stormtroopers face, maybe he's a rebel. That makes a lot more sense

I think the X-wing pilot's helmet looks like a mix of real-world helmets, X-wing helmets and A-wing and B-wing helmets. I would have liked it more if they had kept the mohawk.

It could be racism within the Star Wars universe, in which case it could be perfectly fine with a movie depicting it. We'll see on opening day how it is angled.

I thought it was alright. It got me a little excited, but doesn't get my hopes up sky high. I think the new stormtrooper helmet looks better in the trailer than in previous pics. Don't know what to think about the new droid. It definitely has the look of a JJ Abrams movie.

The Falcon shot made my heart sing!!!!!!!!!

I agree. While I generally liked the Prequels, seeing the Falcon and X-Wings made me way more excited than the Prequel trailers ever did. I really dig the X-Wing helmets, because it looks like a natural progression of the X-Wing and the ROTJ Y-Wing/A-Wing/B-Wing helmets. I'm not thrilled about the trooper blaster or that new lightsaber. That lightsaber would have looked really cool without the stupid guards on it! It's also interesting that the pilot still has the Alliance symbol on his chest.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. I thought The Phantom Menace trailer looked pretty cool too, and we all know how THAT turned out. Lol.

Boyega is likely a rebel in disguise, so I don't get what all the fuss is about. Not crazy about the ball droid, but it could grow on me. The saber is kind of weird, but then again, Darth Maul's saber was pretty impractical, until we saw how Maul used it, so I'm curious as to how it will be wielded. Daisey Ridley looks so cool! Loving the Mara Jade styled headwrap. That shot of the Falcon and the X-Wings made me smile.

I think we live in an age now where people are more cynical because they have so much access to so much information all at once. We're jaded before we even give things a chance. I know I can be guilty of it from time to time. I think Star Wars fans can be the worst culprits of this. We hate change, but we tend to get angry when it feels like we just keep retreading the same material. I'm glad that they're trying new things and adding some familiar ones too. I'm going to try my best to go into the theater with an open mind. I say before we start knocking it that we should see it all in context. This was merely a teaser to get us excited. I think more trailers should be like this. Don't give me the whole plot in the trailer. This one definitely succeeded in several aspects in my opinion. It had an energy and pace that was sorely lacking in the prequels. It also added a palpable sense of danger. I can't wait to see it on the big screen!

This...what Psab keel said...a thousand times. I absolutely loved this teaser. As a younger Star Wars fan I love the new look of everything, especially the stormtroopers, and tend to look at it as a polishing of sorts. Maybe because I'm part of the younger generation, but just my two cents.

I love the appearance of the Sith..but kinda didn't like the cross-shaped saber.
The effects are pretty cool from the ships! Awesome Falcon and X-Wing shots.
The droid is ... very JarJar-ish

I'm pretty sure the aurebesh on the x-wing pilot's life vest says "pull inflate" upside down so the pilot could read it!!!!! oh the nerdgasm. I've got to get me one of those new x-wing helmets, i'll be cruising here for sculpts every ten minutes me thinks :)

The droid is crap and for little kids.

Maybe the black dude in the storm trooper kit is NOT a real stormtrooper without his helmet, but another new character who 'borrowed' it. Ha. Think ESB.
Maybe Lando's kid

Also I am certain Disney would be super conscious to get continuity right and it has been set that stormtroopers are clones of jango. (New Zealand Maori ethnic looking) not African American.

I saw a post by the 501st and they verified that the Sith saber is official canon and that it is not something new. It seems to me to be a two-handed weapon. Like a large sword from medieval times. I personally am pumped to still see the Rebellion and the Empire still going at it. The Falcon, TIE Fighters, X Wings...I am excited to see the film

I was always under the assumption that after the empire (WON) and took over they still used the clones but not just the clone of one person. They used a few different people to clone to make the storm troopers. You know like different sizes for different purposes. :)

For the record, every time someone describes the stormtrooper as a "black guy" but doesn't describe the pilot as a "white guy", you're being racist as ****, whether you realize it or not. Nobody talks about the "white girl" on the speeder, just the "girl." He's a guy in TK armor, not a "black guy" in TK armor. I feel like the whole ****ing internet became a Kennedy-era public school in Birmingham the second he popped onscreen. I'm pretty sure the "I'm scared of different people" contingent will only be happy in the whole series is set in Cape Town c. 1985. *****.
