The Evolution of a Predator Suit-From Start to Finish

Hmmmmmmmmmm...

You could use thing black shoelaces to tie it together at the sides - or small dabs of super glue.

Ya know what?...suprisingly, when you put the armor and back pack on, then the loin cloth, the draped over netting stays in place really well. My piece just has a neck hole and two arm holes...I drape it over my head and put my arms through the holes...put the armor on then finally the head, and I'm good to go. A few loose strands from the netting gives that sort of savage look anyways. As for the loin and butt covers....sueded deer hide is a good way to go...tons of people selling it on ebay...pretty cheep too.

UPDATE: Today Joe got everything from Art!

HUGE thanks to Art for getting everything from Dan and taking the time to ship it to Joe - I REALLY appreciate all your help Art...

Scott, thanks for the advice about using a lighter to fuse the netting threads - it worked PERFECTLY ! ! ! I'm going to wait until I get the suit before I start melting the netting so that I don't make it too tight or too loose.

I made my own chest buckle with sculpy - not bad if I do say so myself!

Your welcome PH im sorry I couldnt find the buckle and blades.

No worries at all Art. You've helped out a LOT as it is! I am glad you were able to help me out by shipping it to me.

Joe has some blades and I made the buckle, so everything is still on track...

Excellent, I like the fact that you saw the need for a piece on your suit and rather than go the typical,,,"WHO HAS" you sculpted and built it yourself.

great attitude and yes ...it came out cherry

Awesome looking suit. You have come a long way. I used black wire trash ties to keep my netting together......just tied up in the back and the backpack/shoulder cannon hide the ties. The lighter idea is great one.......I will try that next time. Your going to have one BADASS suit.

Joe finished the arms and I have to say that the paint looks great. It was painted to match the body suit that DB painted. Joe matched the paint all right, and even made it look better in my opinion. It still has the same look, but the spot pattern is tighter and the color is blended perfectly.

Joe (ta2pro) you have some amazing talent and did an absolutely amazing job on all that unpainted latex. I still haven't seen any of it in person because it was sent directly from DB to Art and from Art to Joe. Next stop - Alberta, Canada!

Today is like Christmas for me...I finally got everything I ordered from Daniel Bravo. Thanks to Art for shipping it to me, and thanks to Joe for painting what I originally paid DB to do.

Now begins the assembly. One of the first things I need to do is somehow manage to get the backpack to stop flopping over. I think Joe mentioned using Great Stuff to fill the area - does that sound correct? Then I am going to find some velcro...

This is so exciting...I've been waiting over a year for this. Gotta go check it out some more. I haven't taken the time to look at it detail. I will report more later.

This suit is so cool...and the smell...ahhh the smell of latex reminds me of the first latex werewolf mask I bought when I was a kid...

After looking over the suit, I have a few questions to all you other Pred fans who have already gone down the road of putting together your Pred suits. Anyone who has a DB P1 suit - if you could help me answer these questions it would be greatly appreciated...

1. My backpack is not rigid at all. I bought some Great Stuff foam sealant from the hardware store - will that work to fill the backpack so that it doesn't flop around? Joe was telling me to use Sipac...what is it and where can I find it?

2. What type of glue would you use to adhere velcro to the latex suit? I have Gorilla glue, Krazy glue, LePage press tight contact cement with brush applicator.

3. Thigh and knee pad armor - should I glue them to the legs or velcro them? Pros/cons to each?

4. What is the best way to glue the two gauntlet halves together? Epoxy?

5. What is the best way to glue the canon base to the shoulder pack?

RIGHT ON PH! I'm so happy you got all of your suit....makes me kind of sad that it comes at the time that I'm getting ready to sell mine ( dont worry, I got a custom Pred in the works)

I can try and answer some of your question, but some of the other guys might have better ones than me.

1. My backpack came foam filled, but I've had to mix a two part semi-rigid foam for other things...I cant remember the name of what I used, but Scott posted a link to a good foam in the materials thread here is the LINK

2. Not sure why you want to glue velcro to the latex...not a big fan of glueing anything to the latex myself. PM me on what you are planning to do, and I'll see if I can help

3. The thigh armor can be tied on with leather strings...that way you can remove them at will ( I kinda liked them off) remember to tie the lower part loosely around the thigh to allow for better movement. as for the knee armor, a nice thick sewing needle and some grey upulstry thread. just stitch them on with a couple of tight loops.

4 Dap or good old hot glue always worked for me

5. This is a tricky one...resin or foam canon? hot glue worked for the lighter foam canon, but when I upgraded to the resin, I had to build a pad out of foamies to fit under the backpack at the shoulder..then I used a screw to sort of bolt the base on. For this one, I'm sure someone will have a better answer.

Most importantly, Enjoy your new suit man,.....you've waited long enough.

ps. If you arent going to mount it to an undersuit...use a piece of black elastic to attach each arm...one end of the elastic attached insde the arm and the other attached just under the shoulder of the torso. It gives a nice range of motion, and they wont rotate on you.

Fantastic looking suit!!! Can I ask you where you found the baseball netting? Was it local or on e-bay? I havent been able to find any anywhere.....except for hockey net and basketball net....which appear to be much thicker than the baseball net.

Thanks!
