if it got leaked I missed it. ;)

When you say very large - 1,2, or 3 feet-ish? Too large and I have to rethink my collection organization :) The ONLY reason I didn't jump all over your big E, its just too big for my house... I'd have to build and extension to dispaly it... and my wife would kill me :D

and I realize the D is a B!tch... But defintely on my wishlist :) REL did one but again its too damn big for my house... I wanted that one so badly... I make a decent living and have a decent sized house but a model that is basically 3x3 (ish) basically takes up a room... can't justify it... my wife knows I'm nuts and god bless her puts up with a lot of my insanity, but even she has limits :) and I gotta respect them or .... there are penalties ;)

You can ask REL how hard it was to make his 1/650 Enterprise-D kit. It was crazy hard. A 1/1000 would be just as hard. I think CAD would be how you would have to do it, like Steve said.

I'm interested in just about any kit Steve makes. He always does a great job.

You're going to do the Galileo in all resin and it's 30-40 inches? What about structural integrity?

We'll see. I have some ideas but if they don't work I'll go smaller. That fiberglass work is a bear to do and I really should charge more for models made from it. However even it doesn't change much. It's such hard physical work. In a perfect world I have some one do it for me. So this time around I'm looking to lower cost and labor.

Problem solving is half the fun of this hobby.

Could vacuform some parts and reinforce other resin pieces like you did for the Big E pylons.

I always love to see how people solve problems like this.

Structural integrity? I think there's an on-board app for that!
"WARNING: STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY FIELD FAILURE IMMINENT. WARNING: WARP CORE BREACH IN PROGRESS." ;)

I always loved how dispassionate those warning messages that Majel recorded always sounded for such nasty, fatal warnings of imminent death. I hope one day her voice will be synthesized to be my computer voice for things like that. "WARNING: 100% LIFE SUPPORT FAILURE IN ONE MINUTE. FIBERGLASS EPOXY FUMES EXCEEDING FATAL LEVELS."

Seriously though Steve, you realize that all the videos and detail have spoilt your fans here rotten. You have created a monster. Think of how empty our lives will be if we don't see you dangling from a scaffold over an immense Big E-1701-D saucer, file in hand de-flashing all those windows! (Is the total number of windows even a figure that can be quantified without resorting to sourt of exotic math?)

Ahahahah!!!

Too funny.

Steve

Just great work..Again thak you..

I would like one of you next build large Galileo..
Sign me up..Maybe this time I'll be 1st...LOL

My BIG E is coming along.I need some dry day for painting..
Sould have a new video up By X-Mass.

Again you the man Steve...

There maybe a few ways maybe to tackle doing your Galileo Steve at 30 to 40 inches I'm guessing the that it will take quite a bit of resin to cast it up when I spoke to Raytheon- Ian Lawrence, awhile back on how he casted his APC hull he said he did it in sections the floor plate then the sides, back and top which he did in about 3 or 4 sections my APC is 16 inches long and cast as one piece but to get it strong so there is no sag in the roof and walls I had to get the thickness between a 1/4 to a half inch thick of resin but being your going 30 to 40 maybe some type of wire mesh in the resin like when concrete is poured heck you know better than me but that will be a build I look forward to seeing and learning from.

You got it right Ray. Rebar! Thanks Ray and thanks guys. I won't get to it until next year but that's not to far off. Ass Scott said I have time to think about it.

Steve,

Great worK. It is really coming along great. Thank you for the updates and I do like the new format of the video updates!

Thanks Tony. I figure this another series of videos and a landing at Vasquez Rocks since I only live a few miles away. ;)

Steve

Well if you go to Vasquez rocks, then you HAVE to make a big foam rock (1 to 1 scale) just like they did in TOS and have somebody throw it at you.

I know this wasn't at Vasquez Rocks, but you could recreate the scene from "The Galileo Seven" when the creature tried to smash the shuttle with a boulder. Use the foam boulder of course.
