Wow...I knew it would look great, but the finish on this thing is flawless thus far. And to think how quickly you did this! Steve, you're a maniac!

Steve says he has so many emails that it takes him 2 hrs to answer them all everyday which takes time away from his work. Please just follow the thread and allow him to do his work. He says he will be completed on Sunday and a video will follow (or maybe proceed).

Thanks for your understanding

Thanks Will. I'm not bothered really it's just hard to get to the video so this Sunday I plan a long one from the last few days. The chair will be done Saturday. I'll be back to the CGI bridge and writing a script.

Next two weeks are heavy for kit making and catching up but I'll make some progress along the way. I hope to shoot in two weeks.

And Glorbes it takes one to know one. ;)

Ted you bet. Me too. The arms could be better. I had problems with the clear coat and it got a texture to it. I'm hoping to re-sand and fix them up a bit more and when I have time down the road make new ones.

And thanks Zombie!

She's pretty much ready to vinyl. Still a few issues with how the chair sits.

All the lights and some switches are working. Even the Com pushes and lights up.

Thanks Guys.

Steve

Well, Steve, you just keep astounding us with build after build! Your skills in all these areas are awesome. Are the drawings for this build readily available, or for sale, as I wouldn't half mind tackling this myself. Out of toilet roll tubes and papier mâché JUST KIDDING!!! Seriously though, I would love to get my hands on the plans.

Just wanted to jump in on the carpet discussion. Having one of these built and in the house, people come over and try it out. The paint gets scuffed really quickly. I'm thinking of adding carpet one of these days.

Steve, the arms really do look great. Catching up with everything else. And I'm really looking forward to seeing this in person Saturday. Meeting Rosie too.

That's Yeoman Rosie, Sir!:)

I can't thank you guys all enough for the kind things you have said.

Today Ted came over to help me cover the chair. Some of you will know him as Prefect 42. I couldn't have finished this without his generous help! We got the chair covered in record time of 6 hours. And we had a lot of fun doing it.

The arms are just laying in place. I still have to lock them down tomorrow after I refinish the wood. Then it's really done. 14 days to the date I started. Video will be up tomorrow so you can see Ted and I working on the chair.

looks nice, i am sure the side vinyl should have been attached to the arm rests then they are attached to the sides then the sides wrapped.
so are you going t ouse dowels to attach the rests? damn it looks good.

Hi Steve,

The chair looks great. When I have wood projects, after staining the wood and letting it dry. I use Krylon Clear Satin spray and spray several lite coats to seal them. After the spray dries I use #0000 steel wool to smooth out the surface and buff it with a cotton towel.

Steve,

You are a craftsman and a gentleman. It was great fun meeting you, Rosie and your wife today. Getting to see the big 'E' in person. And working on the chair was awesome. Good to see another one of these built. I look forward to seeing the arms secured.

I'd sworn Rosie had a red bandana around her neck. I was all ready with a 'red shirt' joke. But she was wearing 'command yellow'. What a wonderful dog.

Ted.
Prefect42.
