The ENCOUNTER - Step by Step Paintup

Hehe damn what a difference the trophies make on P1. Very accurate and the perfect paint job for one of the best scenes in the movie, well done man you should be proud!

I'll give the bones a wash this weekend. No idea how many hours I put in since I never kept track. Thats probably a good thing

Got an email from Narin and I guess hes been following this since the beginning and likes the color of the Pred skin - how cool is that?!

He also shared some exciting news - he's working on a Berserker sculpt thats currently in progress, and will share pics on the Lair when he's ready. GIGGITY!

Well, if you search through the entirity of the site, in the "ME" section, in the very bottom picture, he's standing next to what looks like a 1:2 or 1:3 scale Wolf sculpt, with his hand up on the shoulder. I'm doing everything I can to not think about that constantly, lol. If he's doing a Berseker sculpt, then I'm really anxious to see that, as well.

Back on topic, though, I think the trophies and bone pieces would greatly benefit from being dirtied up a bit, just like Skullsplitter said. Aside from that, I think it looks great, Jay!

Last update. I redid the animal skulls with a black wash to fill in all the cracks and holes, then repainted. I added some resin water to the base. I added leather straps on his elbows and knees. Oh, and I freaking repainted Arnie's eyes yet again. At least now hes looking at the Pred's eyes.

Awesome paintup. Crazy detail. Are you going to add more fake foliage?

What color are his eyes? They look white from the photos.

No more foliage to be added, but dammit I totally forgot to give his eyes some color! Will rectify that tonight - thanks for noticing!

I think I'm using the word awesome too much... let's make up a word do descibe how awesome this is...

Fandamnbulous.

Yep, I think that's the one. :p

Np.. You did an amazing job. I'm looking into getting a model and trying to paint. A nerin axe pred.

Also is the human spine on his back silver to match his armor?

congrats - That's a truly amazing paint job, I've done a few preds myself but only used pastels for shading, now you've inspired me into a repaint of my first pred using spots

Thanks Scott! Sometimes I go a bit overboard on the pics, but when I look at this from different angles it just looks cooler and cooler, so knowing that other people enjoy the various pictures, I like to share
