The DEFINITIVE TDK Joker Costume Thread/Project

I'll have them up in the junkyard soon, I just gotta make the move out east before I can run any... I do have a set of the V2's in both Platsil Gel 10 silicone and a sheet of transfers if anyone interested in checking them out...?

has anybody ordered the Magnoli gloves in small? I got a pair of mediums from him, and used the sizing method, but they seem a tad too large. I know without being custom fitted I can only hope for so much - btu I was wondering if I got smalls if they would be TOO small to fit on my hands. The movie gloves seem very form fitting to the hands. I dont want to risk them being the wrong length just for that, however...

Hey Jodo, not free but for a reduced price. I don't much like the gel 10 either so I'd be willing to get you a good deal on both sets if your interested. Hit me up woody21288(at)yahoo(dot)com

any idea what the flexible molds are made of?

Well, I'd say from the looks of them and judging by the fact that they have to be preped with a 5/1 dish detergent and isopropyl mix mold release that they are an RTV mold grade silicone. Not sure about shore but probably A30 or there abouts.

Interesting... I may just have to stick with making mine in the Smooth-Cast 300... that just means having to remove the piece from the mold before application. Not too big a deal as Skin Tite will stick to itself and can be put on the skin wet, meaning it can be used to fill any edges...

I have a pair of Indy's purple gloves in size Medium, and they fit... Well like a glove. I purchased the M size mainly because that was Heath Ledger's size but since they fit me as well, killed two birds with one stone.

I have another pair of leather gloves and they're also M size, so I guess the size chart on his website is correct.

However, if M is a tad too large for you, S might be too small.

Custom fitting seems to be the way to go :unsure

You could always wet them a bit and use a blow dryer. I did this with my Maul gloves and it worked great. Not sure what kind of effect it would have on the color.

I don't *think* water is what you want to use on leather. Last year my black leather gloves got soaked and after that they were completely discolored (i.e. grey instead of black) and all stiff :unsure

One of my customers recently got a pair of my Joker Gloves that turned out to be too large one way and too small the other (length versus width). He put them in hot water and then let dried them while wearing them and they conformed to his hand giving him a much better fit with no apparent damage to the leather or color.

Kind regards,
Magnoli

Hmmmm, I may give this a try - as a clothing expert - do you know of any reason NOT to try this?

Well, leather is skin after all. So after emersion in hot water and drying I'd suggest using a leather food or balsam as a moisturiser.

There are a ton of guys that love nothing more than wearing their brand-new jackets in the shower to really break them in so why not gloves? But as NoTsOsErIoUs says, I'd use a conditioner afterwords to protect the leather.

Kind regards,
Indy

Oi! Someone over at SHH also tried doing what Clownprince did (the guy who bathed his gloves) and he pretty much ruined them. He left 'em in to long, and that made me cry. :(

I wouldn't submerge the gloves to get them wet. Do it gradually. I used a spray bottle and misted mine til they were lightly coated then I threw them in the dryer on a low heat. I checked them periodically and continued wetting them til I got the desired results. After all that I put a light coat of mink oil on them to help presrve them some.
If your gloves are from a good piece of leather you should be fine.
