The DEFINITIVE TDK Joker Costume Thread/Project

I think you're being hard on yourself - it still looks great! One thing I see a lot of people do is go WAY overboard w/ the red on the mouth. You got it good there. Just that one little bit of the transfer near the corner of your mouth is raised, and I probably wouldnt even have noticed if you hadnt pointed it out first...

I want to say that b89's scar set is the most accurate I have seen or used to date, and I could not be happier with the design.
Since recieveing them, I have used them on two nights out. The first pictures are of me wearing the scars (no makeup) and using Pros-aid for the adhesive. The Pros-aid seemed to work well at first, especially during application, but as the night went on, the scars were prone to start peeling off. The Pros-aid simply does not adhere to the silicone well at all.
The makeup turned out good considering I haven't done it since last year. Excuse the background on these first set of pics - they were taken at the Dinner Theater that I am performing at (unfortunately, NOT as the Joker):

And here are pics of my second night out. I nailed the makeup a bit better this time around - I used less red on the lips, and this time I used Skin-Tite silicone for the adhesive. I have to say, without a doubt, that using Skin-Tite as an adhesive is the absolute best way to go. Not only did it allow for easy application of the scars, but it bonded with the scars perfectly and allowed for greater stretching and expressing of the face without having to worry bout the scars peeling off. Not once did the scars even begin to peel off the entire night. And to top it all off, they peel off very easily and painlessly whey YOU are ready to take them off!

This makeup is always a work in progress for me. I always learn something new each time I do it and it gets better each time. It's ironic how something that is supposed to look so messy takes so much time and effort to accomplish!

LOL, thanks...I gotta be hard on myself. :p

It also seems I could of used some pros-aid on that probolem area to help it from peeling up. So next time I'll do that. :p

EDIT - Oops, forgot to mention you look good General! :D Is that a reworked Rubies wig, or a wig you dyed yourself?

The wig is genuine human hair, originally offered by Gorify.com. They don't sell them anymore because there was a limited supply from the manufacterer. Many people (even people I knew) asked if it was my real hair. It is truly a great wig and is very effective, especially since I have short hair and don't ever intend on growing it out long again (ahhh, the good old days!)
I didn't put anything over the scars - but I did use some freshly-mixed Skin-tite to help blend the edges. I advise against using Pros-aid with silicone appliances. There is adhesive specifically made for silicone though if you don't want to mix up Skin-Tite, but I think you have to use a remover solution with the silicone adhesive.

Looks awesome guys, both of you. :cheers

Can't wait to try my scars out this Friday! Might do a test run before the party. Will post pics up if so.

Everyone! Please vote for my Joker costume!
I have entered a costume contest through my areas local rock radio station - and only four people (including me) entered. The other three guys are just wearing off-the-shelf halloween masks, so my Joker costume SHOULD be a no-brainer to win, but you never know!
I owe my costume to the support and resources found here on the RPF and I want all my fellow members here to pitch in and help me win (so I can put that grand prize money towards next year's costume!)
Please go to: www.1057.com and look for the 'Freaky photo album' banner in the 'feature story' section. There is also instructions there if you want to simply text your vote.
I appreciate your support!
(p.s. I will be posting this in the off topic forum as well)

Those are def the same scars I have bud. Could be lighting that makes them look different. Also, the amount of skin coloring added to the silicone mixture could make the scars appear darker (or lighter) this playing an optical illusion with your eyes when picking out details.

rock n roll :cheers

What colour Maybelline lipstick are you guys using (if any) ?

The only one that I saw was a possible match is Royal Red.

I use a color called 'Coral Punch' because it has that little hint or orange to it that I believe I see on screen and in publicity photos.
