The Definitive Marvel's Daredevil thread

I think we can safely say that he wears the McDavid 8840R shirt in at least the last minutes of episode 4 (and several subsequent episodes from the screencaps that have been posted).

I mean, I thought the thread was meant for research purposes, as the show is pretty new and everyone's trying to guess what he's wearing. If we have a first post summing up the best up to date informations, I don't think a few "useless" contributions, as you so delicately put it, are really all that bad.

That Fashionista interview with the wardrobe designer is misleading. She dismissed the question about the glasses by explaining that they were a "prop," as in "handled by the prop department rather than wardrobe." She goes on to say how important they were to get right and that Cox must have tried on hundreds of pairs of glasses. They certainly didn't fabricate hundreds of designs, and they wouldn't have tried on hundreds of retail frames if they were designing them from scratch. These TV shows don't have the budget of a feature film. It makes the most sense for them to find a pair that they love the look of and stock up on them. I'm sure the prop department sourced or colored the red lenses, but we should be able to ID the frames.
 
The 8840R is definitely the hex shirt.

I feel like the majority of the thread is knocking around valuable ideas and leads. It would make sense for people to create build threads for their own assemblies as they build 'em (especially those of you going for "close enough" pieces) but it also makes sense to hash out what's accurate here. It is called "the Definitive Marvel's Daredevil Thread," after all.

I'll add the McDavid 8840R shirt, along with the McDavid wrist strap which isn't confirmed yet, but seems very likely.

Anything else that you would like to see added to the first post?
 
If we are adding red suit... than based off the image I provided on page 6 which is the most clear shot I think anybody will find... you can see he is still wearing boots and the thread pattern on the bottom. As I stated before, it is Nike SFB. I have a pair like that at home. (Not the newest 2015 version) The tread pattern on the bates is different and can be seen as different in the black suit.

Hey guys, I actually messaged the lead costume designer for the show and she responded quickly. Here's a screencap of her reply. I am sure she does not want to be inundated with questions so please refrain from emailing her en masse, but if anyone wants me to ask specific questions state them here and I'll share any answers she gives me.

Also FWIW I tried to order the compression shirt identified here off McDavid's site last night. They emailed me today saying it was out of stock and discontinued.

Nice work, and what was your question to her?

That seems like a pretty general response, and doesn't give us much more than what was confirmed in the Fashionista interview.

I doubt we are going to get much out of her in regards to the red suit unless we have something very specific to ask her. I would like to know about the black suit. How are the holsters attached? How are the connected around the leg? Did they sew over the logos on some of the compression shirts? etc.

Also.

Which shirt is discontinued? The McDavid 8840R in black and red? That is definitely something we need to know here if that is the case.
 
I asked her if it was okay if I could ask some questions about the costumes and wardrobes in the show. A general question that received general answers. I'm going to ask if a specific prop studio did the suit or if it was built in-house at Marvel. I don't know if she's really going to be very helpful but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

The discontinued shirt is the 8840R identified here, I ordered it last night in Black and Medium off their U.S. website.

That's odd. I bought it last night, as did a few from this thread.
It was in clearance, so that can explain it...
How did they tell you? By email? Im worried I'll get one too
 
I just ordered the Nike 6" SFB and the above listed gloves.
Still trying to find someone to do the cowl by late July.
Need to get to work on the billy clubs and holster.
I'm trying to get a seasmstress to replicate the suit. If you guys have any ideas for the fabrics used I'd appreciate it.
 
Updated the first post with a few items.

Any other suggestions?

I will be adding a section for the red suit as well, but as of right now, we don't have much info on it other than its custom, and the boots/shoes might be the Nikes mentioned here.
