The Definitive Marvel's Daredevil thread

JJ Griffin-
Please let me know about that cowl. I'm ready to give PayPal someone money to get started. I really need one on m head in about 85 days.

SHOES!
Have you guys given any thought to the shoes he's wearing in the final costume? I'm thinking about making some custom Nike's and leather greaves.

Logan,
Looks like the final boots are Nike SFB. In some images you can still see the laces of the boots a little better than you can here on the left foot.

That last part you have boxed is just a break in the knurling on the grip, like this:

Probably just for aesthetic purposes. As for the way they connect/disconnect, I think it's more along the lines of like a quick release coupler with some sort of way to lock them together inside while he swings it around so they don't twist and detach:

It's that internal locking system that has me really confused.
I thought it was a break too but if you look closely each stick already has a break:
dd stick.png If you look between the circles you can see the breaks half way on each stick. If you look even closer in the square you can see that that part is a little higher than the rest of the sticks.

I've been focused on the Black outfit, and haven't spent much time on the Red suit, but I did notice that the gloves are indeed different.
You're right, the gloves have independent knuckle guards among other things. I've scrolled through a few pages of black combat gloves but no luck so far.

Yep, I see it now. I believe it is just a tiny, slightly larger ring. Not sure what it's function is, however. It's also fairly obvious in these shots:

However, it seems to be missing from others, this images shows most of the top section of both and I can't really make it out, can anyone else see it?

I am going out on a limb here, but in regards to the gloves on the red suit.....I think they are the same. Here is my reasoning...
1) It was stated that the red suit was custom by the prop company, so odds are we won't find the exact glove, unless......
2) If you look at the finger guard and finger tip of the glove they are the exact same pattern as previous Ringers pair used in black suit. (can see it pretty well in all the photos of the escrima)
3) Top of hand looks to be the same glove as previously used.
4) Make a small spike / knuckle cover glue it on and you have new red suit glove.
When I first went through all the images I took last weekend I looked for the gloves first and unless they are a knock off, I doubt another company would copy the exact features of another companies gloves. I searched every Ringers glove I could find to make sure this was the glove, and I am 98% sure it is the same glove. Too many features that are identical if you look at all the images...only difference is the knuckle and that is an easy fix for a costume group or even a hobby costumer.

I have confirmation from McDavid that the 8840R, now discontinued, was only produced in the grey/black variant. The wardrobe dept. must have colored the stitches to give it a bit of extra detail/texture/symbolism or to keep in line with the red-stitched Nike they put him in earlier. The 8800, with red stitching and a printed logo, is their replacement product in the line. It doesn't have the correct panels, however.

The 8840R in black with grey contrast stitching (colored red) is the accurate production-used shirt.

No joy with the trousers yet? Anyone?

I won't be picking up them in particular, but it would be good to know what they are so I get close.

lukester, could we update the first post with the most current, best info? The shirt is confirmed. The arm/elbow appear to be two pieces rather than the long McDavid forearm/elbow in one product, but it looks to be the shorter elbow pad variant with less elastic bordering the pad and no logo.

Has anyone narrowed down the exact boot yet?

I've seen shots where the web belt looks to have a black buckle and others where it appears to be brushed or chrome. What are the best shots we have of that?

Still looking for pants and dying to find Murdock's glasses...

From an interview I read I think the glasses were custom made.

To me the belt buckle is chrome, but like the shirt its more than likely he has several.

Clarify which shirt has been confirmed, and which episodes that shirt appears in.

I haven't had the time to keep the post updated this week, especially with the amount of useless information in this thread already.

I would ask people only comment and post here if you have something important to add.

This is not meant to be the catch all thread for everything Daredevil.
