The Definitive Marvel's Daredevil thread

Has anyone had any joy with the trousers?

The costume designer mentioned construction pants, but I haven't seen any that match up decently.

This thread is great, I might be aiming for 100% personally, but it means I can get as close as I can on a smaller budget. Just need the money and to lose a couple of % bodyfat....

After thinking about this for the better half of the day you and Scouser definitely seem to be on the right track. A roof rake also has a similar working to a crutch:View attachment 464249
With a close up to the connectors:

And the metal piece inside that I'm sure can be replicated if it is actually what's used:

More interestingly though, the more I looked at the sticks together I realized they aren't as flesh as i thought they were. There is this part hereView attachment 464252and hereView attachment 464254

Any idea if that last part has any function?

That last part you have boxed is just a break in the knurling on the grip, like this:

Probably just for aesthetic purposes. As for the way they connect/disconnect, I think it's more along the lines of like a quick release coupler with some sort of way to lock them together inside while he swings it around so they don't twist and detach:

It's that internal locking system that has me really confused.

For the New mask keep an eye on project runs an interest thread is starting up soon hoping to sell one of my arrow bow replicas to fund the purchase as I don't imagine it will be cheap.
I keep wondering if we will see DD merchandise from the show at all

Busy week at work, and working on other prop commissions. I'll have more to post later in the week.

This is all for now.

Here's what I've come up with on my research for the red costume so far. I think it's pretty accurate, but be gentle with me if I've missed something!IMG_2012.JPGIMG_2013.JPGIMG_2014.JPG

Lovin' this thread. I am trying to start work on the red helmet/cowl; I plan to 3D print the master then mold and cast it from urethane rubber. As for the escrima sticks, I definitely would love to know what you all come up with as those could be easily 3D printed and resin-cast as well as soon as we've figured out how the mechanism itself works. Keep up the good work, gang!

Alright, so I spoke to McDavid and they said that they do not have a version of the red compression shirt without the logo.

What do you guys think is better?
Get the black logo-less one and use red fabric marker on the seems?
or get the red one and spray paint the logo?

I think you can try to get the black one with red trimming and remove the vinyl logo and lettering afterwards. Shouldn't be too hard.
That being said even if I have yet to see any of the shirts in person, I think the 8840R is the model used in most of the screen shots posted on this thread.
I'm afraid the 8800 is missing some of the hex pattern on the sides.

Thats what I thoguht, I was reading that it's hard to paint over or anything.
Do you think that just passing red marker on the seems would be fine?

JJ Griffin-
Please let me know about that cowl. I'm ready to give PayPal someone money to get started. I really need one on m head in about 85 days.

SHOES!
Have you guys given any thought to the shoes he's wearing in the final costume? I'm thinking about making some custom Nike's and leather greaves.

I tend to agree, after looking, that the 8840R is the correct shirt. I think that the red on the stitching will be fairly easily added.

Also, there are a number of scenes where it looks like the red seams aren't on his shirt, which fits with this one.

Yeah I figured.
I bought it.
IT's on clearance on Mcdavid atm for 30$ I suggest you jump on it!

Ultimately what it looks like we need is the one without the logo already, but with red contrast stitching. Would you follow up with your rep? I don't want to flood the company with Daredevil requests...

nah they didnt seem too helpful..i didnt want to push it.
I ended up going for the 8840 one which is all black and I'll just use red marker on the stitchings
