The Definitive Marvel's Daredevil thread

I don't think the sleeves are rolled up. I think they use the wrist straps to cover up the logos.

Ah, this is true...
However the elbow ones have tags on it as well...wonder how that will be hidden. I'm guessing you can fold the elastic over to hide the tag

hey guys. I've been looking at the pictures some of you guys have posted earlier for the hexpad mcDavid arm guard.
to me it looks like he uses the one that covers his elbow as well
which is this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00O28AMP4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I know he uses a strap that holds 1/4 down his forearm i think it's for the purpose of keeping the form streamline which helps the silhouette of the arm

Yup, they are the elbow/knee straps posted earlier in the thread I think.
The wrist straps are also Mcdavid...but I dont know if they are sold in pairs on the site.

Guys I think the 8840R (the black shirt with gray trim) is the one according to this blurry screenshot I took that slightly shows the hex pattern on the front, hope McDavid has a red version of it ImageUploadedByTapatalk1428970690.211989.jpg

Yeah, let's wait for Mcdavid's response.
If anything like someone said previously, we can get the 8840 and just pass over the stiches with red marker

The pins / metal attachment is just a quick release, more important it is considered a Bayonet quick disconnect. Once it spins fully it locks and the button is to release the lock. The quick releases are not too rare we used them on aircraft a lot. The button may or may not be fictional with the quick release. I say that because of the different types of quick releases made, most with a slight pull and/or spin detachment. Most quick releases that look like that are on braided metal lines or electronic cannon plugs. If I knew what size it was I could narrow down the search a lot. Will see what I can find tonight. If I can't narrow it down I may have to re-watch the episode a few times to see how he is working it because I don't remember off top of my head. Since it is custom, it could also be from RF cables with the metal made around it to look like one solid piece....or could be custom with that type of connector.

Thanks so much for the input! Hopefully you can narrow it down for us!

Update on Faceshell under fabric.
I sawed it in half and tested it. It's pretty much as I expected, it looks just like the show, IMO.

Ok, so I've done some research and I'm still stumped. There's clearly a button on the longer one of the two red batons, and it appears that they attach/detach similar to an adjustable crutch, as LyMovieDudeut pointed out, due to the holes on the metal section that is inserted inside the smaller one (see figure 1). If that's the case, I'm assuming the button would be pressed to lower the pins and allow for the batons to separate. However, watching Matt detach the things, he twists it, like a twist locking mechanism. Could the "holes" actually be small knobs that slot into something like this? (see figure 2) If this thing does work that way, what exactly would the button be used for? I'd love if somebody could help me solve this mystery!

Another important thing to note is his hand positioning. Both hands are placed in positions where a thumb isn't able to press the button...leading me to assume that the button doesn't actually have anything to do with releasing them.

After thinking about this for the better half of the day you and Scouser definitely seem to be on the right track. A roof rake also has a similar working to a crutch:roof rake.jpg
With a close up to the connectors:

And the metal piece inside that I'm sure can be replicated if it is actually what's used:

More interestingly though, the more I looked at the sticks together I realized they aren't as flesh as i thought they were. There is this part hereDD stick protrusion.pngand hereDD stick protrusion2.png

Any idea if that last part has any function?

The glasses won't be custom-made. The wardrobe designer interviewed in the Fashionista article dismisses a question about them by saying "they're a prop," by which she means they were the responsibility of the prop department and not her wardrobe department. She does go on to say that he tried on hundreds of pairs because they were important to get right. They'd have found frames they like - and that they could buy many copies of - and sourced red lenses for them.

Looks like the McDavid elbow/knee pads come in a few sizes and variations. There's a shorter one available that looks like a match, with no logo visible in the pictures. There's not as much elastic past the hex pad. I ordered a pair; I'll let you guys know what arrives.

I think a lot of people bought a bunch of different ones.
I think we should all compare once they all come in
