The Definitive Marvel's Daredevil thread

Found a few skilled individuals here in Los Angeles that with close ups they will without a doubt be able to make the pants for the black outfit! I'll be hunting for the best shots I can find and if you have any please feel free to help by posting them! Once my pair is made I'll be posting the pictures here for everyone to get a close up.The skilled individuals have worked on shows before and are professionals in their field! :) Can't wait!

Looking for opinions the red parts of his suit have a certain shine to them but the black doesn't seem to. does the black have the same texture as the red areas? I can't decide from the pictures we have seen

The black is 3D printed so it's most likely ABS plastic painted matte black.

Probably leather on the gloves and boots but the legs look like the same fabric as the balaclava that's under his helmet

When I asked the wardrobe designer what the red suit was made out of, she said the fabric was 3D printed and assembled in-house at Marvel. Take from that what you will.

I'm glad I found this thread. Very helpful. Appreciate everybody's efforts into finding accurate items.

Since there's no consensus on the pants, I decided to try this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MFL4ITQ/ I got item #6532

For my size (29W), it was only $9.99 shipped with prime so i figured why not! Other sizes in black are 15.99 so not too bad.

I'm still debating on what size shirt. I normally take a small, but for UA compression shirts I take a medium... but those are short sleeve, not sure if the medium will be too long in the arms or too wide in the waist. Anyone try the 8840R and can say how accurate it fits compared to t-shirts or other compressions shirts (or how long the sleeves end up being if you size up 1 ?)

The 8800R looks pretty accurate but it has the logo on the front and it's a v-neck instead of a crew neck. Are they both made out of the same material?

Cool method, I might go for the same thing with mine. Though I'm still unsure of how you cut the leggings. Did you cut the leg seams on both sides all the way up to the crotch?

The ones I bought had a U seam at the crotch/butt. I cut the U and pulled it apart to separate the legs.(Used only one of them.) Then cut the leg to make it look like the ends of the knot.

Side note, Sp3ed_Demon on reddit made this for me. 8yM0ZjQ.jpg

Has anyone had better luck finding the pants? I'm about to give up

I am in the same boat. The work pants I found (bottom of pg. 16) are the closest I have seen and think I have looked daily. I figure I will most likely get that pair add fake buttons to the back pockets and depending on the thigh pocket zipper that comes with it color as necessary. If that is the only differences really between the screen pants and the ones I found, I think I can live with making the changes. Would be less than $5.00 added to it and unless somebody is nit picking with a magnify glass, not sure they would know really. On a side note, Chris92 said he wore those pants at work and uncomfortable. Not sure if he was talking about both versions, but Dickies caries a twill mix version which seems to be most common and a cotton version of the pants according to their website. Figure the cotton can't be that uncomfortable and I can wear it to work if need be and a new pant crops up that is perfect off the shelf.

If they came from an Army/Navy store, I have no idea what company they would be. I have checked out every company I can think of that is carried in a decent number of Army/Navy stores. Checked out NY based Army/Navy stores that sell online and Google searched everything from mountaineer to tactical pants and still nothing exact apparently. All the other items people found pretty quick so not sure why the pants are so hard to find. It has become rather annoying with the dart game being played with the pants.

My 8800R is a crew neck. The logo is really easy to rub off. Took me a couple minutes.

I ordered from there when the link was first posted. The cancellation may have been because of the size ordered. I ordered an XL and it says 8840R on the receipt and it is on its way here. Shipping is SLOW, but it is on it's way. I actually wear a L, but with compression XL works well for me and normally is in stock for some reason. May be worth trying if they have a size up from what you normally wear? Guess I will find out if the image is correct once I get it....if I ever get it.

Yep, size issue it is - and apparently small is one of the sizes they don't have. I just had them cancel the order.

On the plus side, I did further research and figured out that episode 2 features a modified version of this shirt instead: http://store.nike.com/us/en_us/pd/pro-core-compression-shirt/pid-652714/pgid-10346504.
As far as I can tell, the costume department stitched red over the existing grey seams (which I believe someone else pointed out in an earlier post) and also added two extra lines of stitching on the chest, possibly to help disguise where the Nike logo used to be. So if anyone wants to give up on obtaining the 8840R and go with an earlier version of the costume (before padding, sticks, etc.), there is an alternative. Claire might just pick on you for it a little bit. ;)
