The death of Robocop moulds..

When you tasted your favorite cognac for many years and drink it frequently you might get very tired of it or just end up beeing a mess, if you drink to much of it.

It is the same with Movie replica and prop relics or work you contiusly done for many years..

The Robocop moulds is in so critical shape, and we are so tired of them that to make new molds will require allot of resturation work to make good and crisp onces and so will the amount of thousands of dollars it is more tempting to destruct the molds for good and look to other options.:confused I know it sounds harsh but everything comes to an end... :unsure

However this beeing movie history of the original Robocop i belive some might think its a shame to se it disepear for good. But in honesty we dont got the cash to restore it nor the room to keep it. We also get a feeling that era is over... Or is it?

Please let us know your stance on this... Is there genuine intrest in investing in resturing the final cast, and resturing the moulds?

I have the same issue.
Which is why I did a run of a certain SPACESHIP. I couldnt throw good molds away.
However,...My space is finite..and I have other projects to get to.

Something has to go. Besides...very little demand for any of our kits these days.
So....its time to thin things out.

I'm with them. This is the best life size robo ever, don't let it die.

If it is not too late, then you could do a master cast and sell that off to someone who'd be interested in continuing the statue. Heck, if money is tight, you could have the new "owner" fund that master cast to make new molds from, if that is an option.

Otherwise, just retire them and be proud of a job well done. :thumbsup

But it's sad that you have to destroy the ROBOCOP molds. Your replica is simply amazing!

But as you said, restoration means a big amount of time and money.

Maybe that you should keep them for "better days". It could be still usefull, no?

It would be a crying shame to see these destroyed - is there no way to just pop them away somewhere?

You never know how you may feel in the future when the frustration of working with them has faded - don't do anything you may regret in times to come!

Maybe we should try an exlusive run for RPF to save the moulds. But its not an alternative to pass it on its become to private...

Its like a whife... To start with exiting and fun, after couple of years good and ok.. Then after a while hazel and problems with keeping the shape.
