Just saw it today, for whatever reasons today was only the premiere here, and boy was it worth the wait ! Just to establish some grounding : I'm 20, grew up mostly with Batman The Animated Series and didn't see the burton movies until a few years ago, after I saw begins and TDK. And on a personal level, I find Burton's movies boring and couldn't find my batman voiced by the great Conroy. I had to force myself to finish them, something that doesn't happen very often while I do watch an average of one movie per day. Why ? Briefly, the characters didn't feel right to me, while I don't deny that the actors may be good, it was just too extravagant, especially pfeiffer's catwoman. Good acting, but what the hell was that ? Catwoman isn't a crazy bird-eating supernatural creature, it's a cat burglar, merely dressed like a cat, in my opinion.
That is one of the many reasons I liked TDKR, Hathaway did a fine job, even without her whip, as a believable catwoman.
Let's not talk about Schumacher movie-length toy commercials.
TDKR was to perfect conclusion, it tied the loose ends and showed us how the batman is immortal.
It's been said, all the actors did an amazing job, the characters the play are everything I expected them to be so I'm not going to waste time on this.
The fights between Bane and the bat were just outstanding, I could almost feel the power of the blows, first coming from bane, and his much appreciated "brocken back" move, then from Batman in the end, I really thought it was intense.
And frankly, I don't see that many plot holes, I think most people just don't understand some parts, or are unable to connect the dots by themselves, what I feel while reading some comments is that if it isn't shown on screen, then it's a plot hole.
Although I can't yet decide if it's better than TDK or on the same level, I'll have to see it again before I can really decide !
