The Dark Knight Rises (Post-release)

Question: How exactly did Bane's mask work? Was he breathing some form of gas? Where was the gas stored? I didn't see any pipes leading into his back or anywhere on his body.

Not to mention a blatantly obvious point of weakness that Batman would have taken two seconds to attempt to tear off or damage first encounter. He has gauntlets that could have torn it up I would say, he was able to connect punches so it's not like Bane was protecting it well.

But that's movies for ya, especially so in comic movies.

I'm surprised that cops, who live in a city with frozen rivers every year, didn't think that if they are being forced to cross a frozen river that they should be down on all fours to spread out their weight and reduce localized pressure on the ice. Dumb cops.

I'm an Ice Rescue Technician so in the theater the poor buddy next me got the "They're doing it wrong!"

Bane's mask could've converted air into an inhalant, as if it acted like a filter of sorts.

Every time Bane and Batman met in battle, I saw Hector vs Achilles from the Troy film. The Bane/Batman 1 kind of plays out like the actual fight in front of the gates, where as Batman/Bane 2 plays out like Hector vs Patroclus on the battlefield. Everyone takes a step back and lets it happen out of respect, while some remain fighting each other.

The Bane in the comics was incredibly strong because of his rig. Here it is just delivering pain medicine. So how is he so strong?
And just where is the medicine? I see the mask but no storage tank. Not well thought out.

And the cops spends months underground, can't figure out how to get out, yet don't lose weight or grow beards, or freeze in summer clothes during the winter. Not well thought out.

I don't go to movies hoping to be disappointed. I want it to be great. But this is full of holes.
I guess that's how Bruce got back into Gotham. Via one of the plot holes.

I imagine the DVD super dooper director's whats-it release may have additional scenes explaining some of the holes.

Well we don't see Bane lifting cars or defying human strength so I would assume he is strong by normal mean (weightlifting, diet). As for his mask I'm guessing the small cartridges on either side of the bundle of tubes are liquified medication that turns into a vapor to be inhaled. Just my guess.

The little plot holes didn't bother me because they really weren't important to the whole story.

One thing I appreciated was Catwoman's transformation.
From "leaving so little for the rest of us" to an awakening that "a family lived here."
and truly feeling sorry for Wayne losing his money.

Gordan (and others) are in a kangaroo court and certainly going to be put to death. Batman spends the time painting a bat logo on a building with an accellerant. Good thing he finished in the nick of time. ;)

Did anyone recognize the guy from Dexter? The actor who plays detective Quinn.
He's the police officer who won't let Blake cross the bridge at the end. I was like: "*%^*$ I KNOW that guy....", after leaving the theater the coin dropped:)

I also noticed that the black thug towards the end who was going to stop Blake from opening up the tunnel was none other than Christopher Judge, aka Teal'q from "Stargate SG1"

Just back from seeing it, I liked it.

Some moments of visual epicness mixed with a little too much preamble and one too many plot holes, which ranks it slightly below the first 2 for me, but still a highly enjoyable film. Michael Caine was great, he really delivered on the small amount of material he had to work with. Best actor in the show for me.

I instantly thought of you when I saw this...

It's just my opinion here, BUT I do feel that Batman should be a fun movie. I mean, who is the intended audience? DC will sell over a BILLION DOLLARS with of Batman toys this year alone, yet Im uncomfortable letting my kids watch The Dark Knight Rises.

When did Batman become so darned ominous? I remember fun, joyous scenes in every other Batman film.

It's only my opinion, but this was TOO dark. For me. I look forward to a more vibrant and fun reboot. One that I can enjoy more with the whole family!

I'm so bummed at this movie. :-(. I'll get over it. As I play with my Hot Toys Dark Knight. Hahaha

Haha! I love that poster! I made a t-shirt design along the same lines as that (well, reversed I guess). Gone are the days of 'biff' and 'pow': 'This ain't no Bat-Dance' (it's just an idea at this stage so hope it's okay to post? Please delete if not!)
