The Dark Knight Rises (Post-release)

Yeah I liked the whole carrying on the torch thing, but actually seeing JGL in a suit would have pushed the cheese factor too much for me.

Speaking of which - there was a moment during Bane's speech outside of Blackgate where I just couldn't contain my laughter. He got so over the top and just his voice and facial expressions... it just tickled me.

Now dont get me wrong - love the character - love how he was played - that moment was just incredibly funny to me for some reason. Maybe my being exhausted wasn't helping lol

I wouldnt mind if the same crew continued on with the series in a different direction but another Batman interpretation would be just pointless.

Nolan wanted this film to be his conclusion, and boy does it show.

1. Commissioner Gordon wants to reveal what really happened with Dent which happens through Bane.

2. Alfred reveals to Bruce about Rachel's letter.

3. Bruce reveals to Gordon that he was the boy who he put the coat over.

Also Alfred, grow up.

Watch Hitlers speeches.... They got just as stupid... and I think that is what he was going for with all the head nodding and yelling

I mean it was cool. I liked it. I thought TDK and BMB both were better. It was too long though. I liked the ending. I thought Hathaway was better than everybody. Not really enough Batman for me...Bane was cool. Hmmm....what else ? Did I say it was TOO long ? The motorcycle jump scene was Velveeta...i guess 8/10...I don't know ? I hate to pick things apart. It was cool...see it on the silver screen for sure.

C O O K # 45

Saw it. Could have done without 45 mins and gotta say I left feeling meh. I tried going in with an open mind and not having an established opinion yet but I still walked out thinking I could've waited. Had some minor surprises but I never felt a climax in the story or an emotionally roller coaster...

I think it is guaranteed that we will get a 4th film.
I could see them doing a continuation but with an entire new cast (or very few returning actors) although I would not be surprised to see a full reboot as well.

I just hope who ever takes over knows what they are doing.

Great movie but I felt unsatisfied for one reason alone: they showed EVERYTHING on the trailers/commercials. Not a single surprise in the whole movie. TDK left A LOT still to be seen in the theater.

If it hadn't been for that, I would have been truly blown away... which is sad, because its not due to the movie itself having any shortcomings.
I stayed away from the trailers and tv spots just in case, it also helped July 19th creep up extremely quickly for me.

I'm with you here. It never really fascinated me and at times it felt like I was only watching the movie because I was curious about how they would wrap up the trilogy. I also think I only caught about half of Batman's and Bane's dialog. While I get it, the mumbling/grunting/lack of clarity just comes across as silly to me.

That's not to say I thought it was a bad movie. The Nolan movies just don't really do it for me. So thinking about it now, I think that, if you're excited to see TDKR, you'll probably love it. If you're ambivalent to it on the front end, you'll remain ambivalent. At least that's what happened for me.

Just my $0.02. I'll still buy the Blu-Ray when it comes out. (Can't have an incomplete set, after all!)

I love how Nolan grounded the Batman into the real world. For me for anyone to take a comic book and make it feel as though you could easily be watching events unfold on the news is an extraordinary accomplishment.

Cant wait to see this one a second time tonight and third time tomorrow. If Caine does not get some type of award for his performance I will be shocked. Less screen time, but damn did he deliver a great performance.

probably a bad comparison but i remember Micheal Bay-Splosion saying he was only making three Transformers........ now a fourth is in the works

Well, I think Nolan has a little more integrity and character than Bay. Now, it is possible to see someone else pick up where he left off, with Blake taking over as Batman. Depending on who, it may be good.

I would think that Nolan's ending has made it very difficult to include Batman in a Justice League film unless of course we get the dreaded reboot from the beginning again in a few years.

I'm really surprised by all the mixed reactions to this film - I understand no movie can please everyone, but I was hoping for more support for it.

In all fairness, Michael Bay and Christopher Nolan are on completely different levels.
