The Dark Knight Rises (Post-release)

I was one that was not thrilled by the trailers or media hype.
100% enjoyed the movie, better then TDK IMO. And it used a lot of elements for various comics namely The Dark Knigh Returns for sure which is my number one fav Bat comic. :) Worth the price and wait. (y)thumbsup

I actually LOVED the last trailer it gave me those feelings you get once every few years when you know a movie is going to deliver on everything . It was almost 3 hrs and it felt like 1 . I thought the ending was killer . I was hoping he wouldn't die which i felt was going to happen for sure. I REALLY hope this is it because they took the film as far as possible and ended with class. They did take some things from the Bane comic but not all of it . WHAT A MOVIE!

I loved it. I'm gonna see it again a few times for sure. It threw me WAY off at how much they changed Banes voice in the opening scene. I've seen the original version so many times that I have it memorized and it was just sooo different.. Otherwise.. loved it.

Just got back from the cinema. 3 words. Pretty. Damned. Good.

Wasn't sure if I was gonna like it bout half way through, thought the middle was a bit bloated but by the end I could've jumped into the air pumping my fists with joy. Excellent ending, good begining, slow middle. But then I guess the middle was good for building the tension.
Oh and Anne Hathaway was a really good Selina Kyle.

Oh, one more thing. Can I get me a 'Batman Beyond' with the ending.

Nolan on shootings: 'unbearably savage' - Entertainment News, Film News, Media - Variety

"Speaking on behalf of the cast and crew of 'The Dark Knight Rises,' I would like to express our profound sorrow at the senseless tragedy that has befallen the entire Aurora community. I would not presume to know anything about the victims of the shooting but that they were there last night to watch a movie. I believe movies are one of the great American art forms and the shared experience of watching a story unfold on screen is an important and joyful pastime. The movie theater is my home, and the idea that someone would violate that innocent and hopeful place in such an unbearably savage way is devastating to me. Nothing any of us can say could ever adequately express our feelings for the innocent victims of this appalling crime, but our thoughts are with them and their families."

Just saw Batman Shirks His Duty.

SPOILERS;

So what's he been doing since the last one? Nothing. He has a sore knee. But then he got a brace. Took him 8 years to figure that out. Took him 80 days to fix a broken back, and 8 years for his knee. And I didn't see the knee brace on his batsuit anyway.

Cops in sewers just sit there? For 80 days? Can't they find a manhole or something? And yet when they get out they are such tough guys they can face heavily armed mercenaries. And they have their guns.
And after 80 days of starvation dieting their clothes still fit the fat bastards.

1 hour to see Batman, then over an hour to see him again? WTF? And Gordon in bed for half the movie.

Selena Kyle was well played. Nice to see she was the Year One version, with the little blonde friend turning tricks.
The whole 'city taken over and carved up' was from Batman - No Mans Land.
I felt anything good was taken from a comic.

Bane was tough to hear. Any tiem he spoek I hadto listen carefluly ormiss words. And Batman was defeating him the same way he always does. Pull the hose off his mask.

Nice twist with the villain. It made sense after it as revealed.

After it was over, everyone got together as one and rose, and quietly left the theater. If you're hoping to see Batman, You're going to have a bad time.

Anyone who is annoyed by my rants about you know what, please ignore this post.

*clears throat*

First they make Bruce's mother a mute, than they kill Rachel off, than they give us a very poorly done fake-Renee Montoya, than they refuse to call Selina Kyle Catwoman, NOW THEY'VE GIVEN US A FAKE HOLLY ROBINSON!

What's the matter Nolan? Don't want to surpass your quota of only allowing one established female character per trilogy? Or did you not want to pay the royalties to use her, which I'm sure no doubt would have broken the film beyond measure.

*end rant*

It was good. I liked it. It's funny how the only time Bane acted like Bane was when his mask got torn. Seeing him punching that pillar twice even though Batman is clearly not there was certainly one of my favorite moments.

I still like TDK better however this was an amazing movie and I couldn't be more satisfied with the ending. I haven't had that much anxiety in a movie towards the end in a very long time!

I'd kinda like to see a continuation as opposed to a reboot. I'd like to see Blake pick up the mantle. See the struggles of following a legend, etc.

I can see them not continuing, but I don't need batman from scratch come Summer 2015/6 which you know a reboot will be.

I like to imagine what happens next with Blake taking the mantle. I dont necessarily need a 4th film. However I'd love to see a reboot and someone else's vision of Batman.

The only reboot i'd be OK with is Arkham Asylum/City on the big screen. Short of that, just like spiderman, i'm getting sick to death of the origin.

I will give Nolan credit for not pitting Talia and Catwoman against each other in a chick fight where the victor calls the loser a bi***.

Great movie but I felt unsatisfied for one reason alone: they showed EVERYTHING on the trailers/commercials. Not a single surprise in the whole movie. TDK left A LOT still to be seen in the theater.

If it hadn't been for that, I would have been truly blown away... which is sad, because its not due to the movie itself having any shortcomings.

Its funny you say that because my friend and I would walk out of the room or totally dodge trailers after seeing the first few.

An outstanding conclusion to what is a benchmark series of cinematic delights. Much praise to all involved, the professionalism and committment to a strong product shines through for me. Have never read a Batman comic so going in with a clean slate would give me a different perspective. My only concern before TDKR was how Nolan would introduce Catwoman and still keep the level of "believability" of the previous two films but was very happy with the character and portrayal.

Going for a third time as soon as possible, that hasnt happened since Mad Max 2, which is good timing as Im actually really looking forward to seeing Tom Hardy as Max now. Everything else about the new Max has got me nervous but this guy is the real deal, even with the obvious restrictions of the Bane role, he totally owned it, though i do admit to noticing some channeling of the Lord Humongous.

SPOILERS ALL OVER.

Just got back from seeing the Dark Knight Rises. I make no apologies for saying what I say next. It was really bad. It was as if Michael Bay was put on Ritalin and told to make a Batman movie. Potential to be good, lots of explosions that were a lot less explosive than those in Transformers, and just about the same amount of substance. Really truly disappointed. Usually if I need to use the bathroom while seeing a film I'll try to wait. Well, I didn't this time. I actually felt a sense of relief, (not just of the self reliving kind) when I walked out of the theater to the restroom. I know some might not agree with me, that's fine. But in my opinion the movie was really a big let down. I say this as someone that REALLY enjoyed the first two films. This isn't even about the 3rd act having to go up against those movies though. This movie was just bad. BAD. I can't say it enough.

Look Batman isn't Batman anymore and for some reason his legs are screwed up suddenly. He must have been sitting around for years playing WoW instead of being Batman. Look he's in love with some woman we've only seen him interact with for five minutes. Look he's Batman again for a night out. Look, he's getting his ass kicked. Look his back is broken. Look crap is exploding for a half hour. Look he has a vertebra pushed back into his back, he does some working out and he's FINE. He can climb walls and s---. Look he's Batman again. Look he's stabbed and he flys away. Look he's exploding. No, he's not really, he's in Florence with Catwoman. The whole movie is about destroying Gothan and completing Ra's work., but they decide to string out the destruction for no real reason. I WISH Scott Evil would have shown up and said "Give me the trigger, we'll fly a few miles out and do it now. It'lll be easy. "

The movie has no substance.
