The Crazies is a Good Remake

I have the original on DVD. Last night I saw the new one in theaters. I thought the original suffered most from lack of resources. The new one suffers no such problem. There is more than one genuinely scary sequence. Even the story has improved over the original. Did anyone else enjoy it?

I did. Saw it a few days ago.

The story made sense, but the ending sequence with them in the truck surviving seemed a bit too over the top IMO

You might want to mention this thread has spoilers.

I know you shouldn't have to, but yeah...

i own and enjoy the original as well, so had high hopes going into this one.

i think think the remake is prety good..... but not something to rush out to check out either....
it has some great parts in it..but also alot of slow dragging on moments.

over all, i would recommend the remake as a film to check out though. for at least a rental

i know for me ill be buying it when it comes out......just caust im a horror nut.

timothy oliphant and the guy who played the deputy were both really great in this movie acting wise....

I haven't seen it yet, but it was shot partly in my town and partly in a neighboring town. A couple of friends got to be extras.

Liked it, but did not love it.
I am a huge fan of Zombie flicks and this one was just alright. A little more Zombie action would have suited me more, it was slow at times, but it did have a few really good moments.
Got my moneys worth, but not really excited to see it again.

One really well done creepy scene gamve my Girl nightmares for 2 days - so that was good:lol

much like 28 days later this is not a zombie flick.....:thumbsdown

if you were a "huge fan of zombie flicks" you would know that....

I enjoyed the film. The only time I was actually scared by anything was when the waiter (we saw it in a movie tavern.. had food and drink) walked up during a tense scene.
:lol
I hadn't realised I was THAT into the film until that moment.

I've decided that while I really enjoyed the movie, one story element George Romero used is far ballsier than the one in the new movie.

Having the military doing secret experiments makes for a far more compelling story than a military accident/cover-up. It's not like the precedents aren't there.

yeah...that is what you should do, tell me what I know.

I am a "hug fan of zombie flicks" and I consider this (and 28 days later) both Zombie flicks. It is about the overall concept and tone for me, not about fake concept specifics - but thanks for telling me what you think I should think, mez7 - but I can handle it myself.

Another for the ignore list:thumbsdown
