The Camaro from Better Off Dead

I'm watching the movie on my iPod right now and was idly searching the web for interesting trivia on the movie when I stumbled across this site. I just really dug the story, and the car has always been a total dream car for me (though perhaps not as much as for the author).

Dream car of mine too. I owned a 67 RS/SS with hideaway headlights, black on red interior for a brief period of time. Automatic tranny wouldnt shift past 2nd gear, and I suspected the car was stolen after I couldn't get the title from the guy I bought it from, so I sold it quickly. Loved the car though, would like to have another someday.

A car, is not a toy.

Cool. Glad to see it got some love.
Sad that it didnt get much after the movie though.

Fun cars, I had a 69 with a big block for many years.

Cool info on the site. Great to find more movies with Camaros. I have a 68' with 327 and 4 speed that I have been restoring and modifying for the last 20 years! Most of the work has been in the last 3 but I haven't driven it for 10 so it is taking priority over props at the moment.

Very good site.

"You tell me what's worse; speaking no English at all or speaking like Howard Cosell?"

Thanks for posting this, I was just talking with a friend of mine wondering what ever happened to the camaro. I loved that car.

Glad to have seen this thread, it's a big hit with my wife who is right now reading your entire website. She really loves it and just made an suprised comment that "WOW he has the pig hat!!"

Thanks for the site and all the little detail, it was a great read.

Thats my favorite car of all time,, a black 1968 ( 67 less vent windows) Camaro SS/rs. I had a 69 but the 68s just look more beefy to me,, round wheel wells, no european crimp down the side,, those blacked out grills,, So i went and bought me one. She hasnt moved under her own power in a year and a half, but she soon will. I gutted EVERYTHING from 1968 ( original engine-396- was long gone) . She now has a Corvette Zo6 motor (LS-6 with bigger cam and springs) , a Tremec T 56 6 speed with Viper internals, Fab 9 inch rear end, a full T.C.I. mandrel bent suspension , 4 link, coil overs, rack and pinion steering, vintage air coming next. Wheels are now the Eleanor mustang PPS engineering wheels powdercoated black with a chrome lip .:love I LOVE HER SOOO MUCH!!!:cry
