The Best Ad I Have Ever Seen

Well it worked, I'm almost out of Sailor Jerry and Buffalo Spring so I know what I'm picking up to restock next time.

Would go now if it wasn't storming outside.

This ad fires on all cylinders from the sublime performance to the superb choreography and execution. It practically leaves you salivating for a glass.

That was one of the coolest commercials I've ever seen. Sincerely. Wow. That was unreal. Is there an info on how it was made, how many takes it took?

There's s few interviews with the director online. They shot for two days and did 40 takes. That was the last one, at 8 at night.

Great ad... I like these types of advertising that draw you in and give you something more than what you see normally. It makes it very memorable and helps you to see the perspective of someone who appreciates Scotch.
I don't want to hijack, but I'm a motorcyclist it reminded me of the "Live By it" ad from Harley Davidson. YouTube - ‪Harley-Davidson: Live by it.‬‏

Anything's possible, but I think it's just as likely he's looking down to watch where he's going. Look at those rocks! The other grand achievement is that of the Steadicam operator who's walking that same terrain... backwards.

It is a good ad. I can't work out - ah - Larry you beat me to it! Was going to talk Steadicam, heh, fools never differ. :) Kudos to the operator, for sure. Amazing.

I was also pleased to see this still making the cut:

Carlton Draught, "Big Ad" | Adweek

It's impressive and all that but....
it's just whiskey.
As with all ads no matter how clever, arty, funny, expensive looking i just sit there and think..
It's just a car,
It's just an ice cream (ducks from missile lobbed by TGG)
It's just a pair of trainers
and so on.

As an art form on it's own i think advertising is very clever and salute those that work in that field. I simply cant accept that all that effort, all that money, all that talent was used to simply sell us some whiskey.

For the record, Magnum ice lolly ads really grate on my nerves. The mellifluous voice, the sumptuous surroundings, the glitz, the glamour the eroticism...
IT'S A FREAKIN ICE LOLLY!!

And Star Wars is just a movie.
And the Mona Lisa is just a painting.
And the works of Shakespeare are just plays.

It's all about context and appreciation.

Now, am I comparing this ad to those things? No, not really. However, I can appreciate this commercial as the work of art that it is.

its a really good commercial, but i found some things i didnt like, personally.

for one, it seemed to switch lens styles, as if you watch the background, it seems to come closer and then drift away.
also i dont like the color scheme, it doesnt quite fit the mood.
but thats just me, and other than that its amazing

1 take without cuts is hard enough, kudos to the camera team. Alos robert carlyle is a great actor and i allways liked him

definitely not the best ad ive seen, but its in the tops

It was a good one, I liked it. Still don't think it beats the "VW-Don't forget it's a diesel" ad from years ago, with the little girl. Now that was brilliant :lol

Very cool, and well produced.

And way, way too long. It's like when a client comes to you for a :30, and gives you a list of bullet points to cover that's pages long, but this time, instead of them being convinced to boil it down, they said "okay, make it six minutes long, then". Part of the beauty of the :30 is that it forces you to be clear and concise. Just a little too much talking here.

...if I had to nit. Still very cool.
