Hi, everyone! I have recently completed a pretty significant project and I'm really eager to show it off to everyone here.

First a quick little bit about myself. I am a long time lurker here, and I have posted just a couple of things, but this is one of my favorite forums to visit. Everyone here does such amazing work and I love seeing what people can do. Although I do some full scale props, such as the Baby Groot detonator that I posted here, I do almost all my work in miniature, 1/6 scale most specifically. In general I work on accessories for action figures to compliment peoples' collections, so things like weapons, iconic pieces from films such as a whole set of accessories for Forrest Gump (think briefcase, all the contents, bench, shoes), etc.

Around 2 years ago I was asked by a friend if I could do a replica of the Pee Wee Herman bike in 1/6 scale. Of course I thought it would be a wonderful challenge and over time I accumulated an immense amount of research information so I could recreate this iconic bike perfectly at scale. The long-standing thread for this bike here on this forum was my main source of screen-perfect information, and I did everything I could to replicate everything exactly as it was seen in the film.

I used a diecast Xonex Schwinn Phantom 1/6 scale bicycle produced in the 90's. It was heavily modified to match the underlying bike structure in the film. I then went about 3D modeling, printing, and fabricating every other item on the bike from the ground up, using all the knowledge I gained here and various other sources.

I will be trying to share as much of the process as I can, as I took many, many photos along the way. Until I can organize more of the process, please enjoy the photos of the completed bike. And I'm happy to discuss any part of the project that anyone is interested in.

I’ve always wanted to build this bike at the scale of the old pull string Pee Wee doll. This is the next best thing!

amazing work.

DD: You are my hero. This is absolutely stunning. Huge props and mad respect to you for your attention to detail and craftsmanship. Better than a lot of full size replicas I have seen. ( Also easier to display than my full-sized replica. Ha! ) Kudos! -- BB

Thank you!

One of THE coolest things I have ever seen on the RPF. I’m a 1:6th fanatic, and have been collecting 1:6th scale items for many years.

I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Cheers!!

Thanks, everyone! I will be sure to add more photos of the process. Sorry I have been working on a lot of stuff lately so I haven't had a chance to do it yet.

And my next project? A certain, special BMX bike from an iconic movie I'm sure many of you have seen. That one will be a from the ground up build. I'll be sure to post a thread for that as well!

SO I thought I'd start with some of the renders of my 3D models. Since I started with a base bike I didn't have to worry much about the bike structure, though I did make a lot of modifications to the frame and fenders and such.

However for everything else I modeled each piece and part from the ground up. I did a ton of research here and elsewhere so find the exact specs, models of any given item, etc. I tried to include every single, last detail, down to the proper pattern on the Mickey Mouse bell, to the "Super Rocket Ray" wording on the spinner. Everything was modeled in Fusion 360.
