The Batman

I just turned 50 & when my grandson recently needed to get medicine every 4 hours, I became the night nurse. They actually told the doctor that Pops was up every 2 hours to pee, so maintaining the schedule wouldn't be a problem.
I think this thread is sliding to the "Medical Procedure Men Over A Certain Age Have To Have!"...Can you say prostate problems?:whistle::D

It's not that going 3 hours is impossible, it's just less comfortable.

Movie viewers are paying customers. If theater chains aren't willing to address an unpleasant part of the experience, then people will watch those movies at home on streaming services.

I'm almost 60. How old are we talking?
60 as of July of 2021 for me. Most of the time it's not a problem, but for whatever reason suddenly that morning cup of coffee on that one day becomes the gift that keeps on giving and I'll spend at least half my day going to and from the rest room.

Anyone here remember the film Gettysburg released in '93?
The wife and I (we were newlyweds at the time) saw it in a theater. It ran something like four and a half hours! There was an intermission where people could get up and stretch their legs, use the toilet, etc.
I think that is the only movie (live theater excluded) we ever saw that required a break.

I was really interested about this when the first teaser was put out, but as the release gets closer, I find my interest in this completely waned. I wonder what the reviews are when this comes out and how well it will do.

A friend just sent me some photos of the car. Spoiler tagging it so not to ruin it for anyone.. looks like it’s on display somewhere

Its seemed like such a long wait..
Maybe thats the problem, I'm still looking forward to it but until a Papa John's pizza leaflet was posted through the door it had fallen off my Radar too!

I love the Red against black on the Posters!

I saw this on a commercial the other night, we don’t have them local anymore, pretty cool design though

Like the Tumbler I wasn't a fan when I first saw it, but this Batmobile is growing on me. Batman in a lot of ways is one of those rare franchises where I'm always surprised (often in a good way) by the choices made by different iterations. It's hard for me to define what specifically works , but perhaps it's the fact that there's so many angles to approach the story from and unlike many comic characters psychologically I think there's some real depth to explore.

I'm quite looking forward to this movie. I was completely apathetic when I first heard about it and after hearing the initial casting of Pattinson and seeing the suit I wasn't impressed. Though to their credit the more I see the more intrigued I get. I'm going to try my best to catch this in the theater. I have a feeling it's going to be good.

It feels to me like its the recent Gotham series but with more teeth!
Looking forward to it!

So Batman stole a Dodge Challenger and infused his love of Knight Rider + Road Warrior?

Not a Dodge Challenger.

It looks like a '69 Chevy Camaro judging by the windshield area and the dash glovebox. Although the rear roof pillars might have some '68-70 Dodge Charger metal.

That car looks like it could be a 100% catalog job (no real vintage parts). They sell new reproduction '69 Camaro body shells these days.

BTW, I notice this thing has a rearview mirror inside. It's common for Hollywood car builders to remove that, even just on regular mass-produced cars. I wouldn't be surprised if Pattinson uses it in the movie somehow.

Yeah I’m not sold on the car as of yet. Maybe it’ll grow on me though. Being early days, I have a feeling this homemade car will get destroyed and he'll get himself a "real" Batmobile at some point later. The Tumbler was neat... but I never loved it either. The Schumacher and Snyder cars were horrible, imo. Frankly, I've never loved any of the Batmobiles outside of the sleek, black beauty that was in the Tim Burton movies. Did it have the turning radius of a dump truck? Sure, but to my childish eyes, it was sex on wheels. Outside of the movies, the one in the animated series (essentially a variant of the Burtonmobile) was good too lol!

I didn't like the Tumbler at all when I first saw it; thought it looked like a big cockroach on tractor tires. It wasn't until I saw it in action in Batman Begins that I was sold on it.

So far the one thing I like about this Batmobile is that it looks feasibly like Bruce Wayne designed and built it himself, maybe with a little help.

YES! I too thought the Tumbler was hideous but once I saw what it could DO, I was all about it. Sure it's a pretty ugly looking vehicle, but I love that it was essentially an experimental military tank and the function over form sold me in an instant when I saw it in the movie. In context to that story it fit perfectly.

This new Batmobile looks like a heavily modified muscle car that's built for serious abuse. I like the parred back design because it feels more utilitarian and functional. I could buy the idea that Bruce did the modifications himself. I always loved in the Animated Series how Bruce was always tinkering or repairing his ride. I could see them doing that in this movie too.

You know I'd like to see a take on the same OG Batmobile!... it couldn't really get the justice it deserved back in 66...
I would love to see The Batmans almost Chopshop way of building said car evolving into the classic BM we know and love..

We did get a glimpse of an Awesome BM in Ready player One
Imagine that cool 50s car moving winding power sliding er drifting through Gotham and beyond..
