The Batman

I was trying to be sarcastic. :)

What I would like is a true depiction of the character as he was originally created. He was modeled after Sherlock Holmes, having a keen intellect and the ability to use ratiocination to piece together a crime scene, figure out what, who why and how, and then don the suit and go dish out justice! He just happened to have the money to buy whatever he needed to do so.

That is The Batman that I would like to see!

Yes I am happy it will be very detective heavy for a change.

Just to clarify this is what you guys are complaining about.

I was a little unclear in my phrasing. I think the best Batman was Christian Bale. The best Batmobile, IMO, was the Keaton version.
Oh, gotcha. Actually, BaleBat is my favorite too. I was too young to truly appreciate Keaton's Batman, though I remember it from my childhood, and the Schumacher Batman movies were just not appealing to me. I did enjoy the animated series, though. The Nolan movies came out precisely at an age in my young to mid teens that they became cemented as MY Batman.

Yes.
Seriously look at that pic and think does that boy look like the alter ego of Batman or Marty McFly's awkward dad in the 1950's.

If I showed you that still with no context you would never believe it was meant to be Bruce Wayne.
He looks like a guy whos hair was just disheveled. It's just a basic side part. Almost like Obi-Wan actually.

If I showed you that still with no context you would never believe it was meant to be Buce Wayne.
To be fair, that's kind of the point of Batman. He could be anybdy. If i showed you s picture of Balewitj his hair slicked back, you wouldn't know if it was from Batman or American Psycho. Batman was meant to be anybody under that, even somebody doing something as simple and reassuring as putting coat around a young boy's shoulders to let him know that the world hadn't ended.

True. But If you took either of those Bales, placed them next to Pattinson here, and asked me to guess which one looked more like a real life billionaire playboy, I would guess Bale.

I’m not leaning to either side but it does look like a good movie.
It is a year one Batman so it makes sense that he is sloppy.

- he clearly gets hit with a bullet (good thing he has that heavy duty body armor).
- it takes several punches to take out one dude (because he is still new at this).
- catwoman’s outfit also looks shoddy (Guess she needs to steal more lol).

Surprised to see some saying he's too young when Bale was 30 in Batman Begins and Pattinson is 34 in the Batman.
It has nothing to do with anything, other than it has always been in vogue to not like the TWILIGHT films. Therefore, if you were to ever like anything associated with the franchise, then you must like them as well.

Go back & look at the announcement photo of Matt Smith when he was cast as the 11th Doctor in the DW franchise. The ONLY comments you heard were about not needing an emo Doctor, he looks like a TWILIGHT reject, his floppy hair, his pale skin, his brooding look, etc.

I'll admit, going from Eccelston & Tennant to someone that seemingly different, had me a bit apprehensive, but by the end if the first episode, I was convinced.

I'll concede one thing... I'm not a financial guy, so the only billionaires I hear about in my day to day life are Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Vince McMahon, & Tony Khan, so I'll admit, no, Robert Pattinson does not look like a billionaire.

I take it you've never seen him in anything else then? He's quite a good actor.
Yeah, I've only seen him in The Rover (which is excellent, IMO) and The Lighthouse (which is... strange), but the dude can act. This BS of automatically dismissing the film because he was in the Twilight films is ridiculous. And this whole habit of pre-judging a film, sight unseen, based on VERY little has become tiresome.

Batman has been played by Beetlejuice, the guy from Gigli, and a guy who weighed 125 pounds. It doesn't matter what they did before.

What about this Bruce Wayne, does he look like a real life billionaire playboy?

Or this billionaire? Is he somebody you assume would have money if you saw him on the street?

What about this guy? Would you assume an old man wearing a tweed sportcoat and a yacht cap was the definition of playboy?

What about this Bruce Wayne, does he look like a real life billionaire playboy?...

To be fair he said if the two were put side by side, and he was specifically asked to point out which one looked more like a billionaire playboy, he'd pick bale (I would too :p).

That said, yea, bale spends a lot of those movies only looking like a guy in a suit with slicked back hair (the same look as a character he played, that had business card envy, so not a billionaire). picking people off the street, they'd be just as likely as the other. and Jobs looks like a looser dad, and and heffner looks like an old creep (soooo... half right on him? He looked more the part of ladies man when he was younger).

All batmen are beautiful.
