The bag..........(gotg)

Update:

Well I made it back safely. Looked at my mess and tweaked a few things. These next shots are the final layout. Got all the partial sewing done. And weathered everything accordingly. I'll post the final product later this evening..........

All together minus the strap......

Front pocket.....

Main pocket.......

Aaaaand the back........

keep your fingers crossed and hope I don't screw up this last bit of sewing..........:(

WOW like i said before beautiful purse :) If time permits maybe a possible future run maybe? I would actually use this on a daily basis!!!

Since it was apparently a "daddy" day yesterday. My child would not let me do anything! I stayed up late and finished. The only thing left is to hand stitch the bag closed. I'll post pics in an hr or so.......that's "if" the monster lets me.......

Here we go!!!........

this is against my couch.......chocolate brown leather. I will source it out for the other 2 bags.....

and that's it!!! I used magnetic snaps for the small straps... and as you can tell I'm a shorty. The bag is a little too long. Should fit someone 5-5 thru 5-9...10ish. I'm only 5-4. I wanted a double flap to make it sturdy, but in the sewing process it ended up a PIA. The other two will have the screen accurate single layer. I left the pleats out because I was too far in the sewing and I didn't want to rip the whole thing apart.....

Granted it was a learning experience for me but I am happy with the result! The bag is nice and sturdy. All that's left is to hand stitch the corners shut and put the flashing for the seams. Again this is the practice bag, depending on the interest I might just do a small run. I'm also searching for a local screen printer who can do a larger area of fabric. We shall see. I wouldn't mind making a few for people. The only draw back is the time frame to make just one. This one was about a month and a half. Juggling my job, house work and child. Also the needles get dull really fast. I went through a pack of 5 for this. So far the tally is $315......that's all the satin, fabric, leather, hardware, dye, needles, thread, glue, etc........

It's a nice bag and it can stand daily use an abuse. I'm so proud of it. Going to use it through the week to see how it stands up. Then up for sale.........I gotta fund the next 2!

Thanks for watching and I'll update the tread when the other 2 start production!

Peace!!!:cool

You making the second strap? I wonder if its detachable? It's on his trench coat but not the short jacket.
