Hi guys, still a tiny bit new to the scene, but you know, been around lurking.
Anyway, I'm waiting for an ASM print from Taylor, and I was on the waiting list for Frame's from TheNickFox, but his run fell through, and the other run of Joelai (sp) is all filled up currently,
So as I perused the craft store, thinking of what I could do, I remembered someone saying Sculpey, and it was on sale, so, here I go... I have pictures, but I'll explain what I did first,
I traced the spidey lens shape in illustrator, then printed, so I had a template... then I took the sculpy and laid it out on top of it.. Surprisingly, its very plyble, and easy to work with.
So once I had the basic shape out, I took the exacto and sliced and diced... did a little roller action to try to get it smooth as i could...
First attempt I baked it with the intent on making a mold and casting it in Resin... Soon after I realized, the sculpey was still king of easy to work with after being baked and could be sanded still.. so... I did another set in sculpy... then I laid them over a pyrex dish to get the Curve of the frame that you see on the original... Baked... Sanded, 3 coats of matte, and then 2 glossy... and I feel good... cause I have a pair of spidey frames... that cost me.... very little and look really passable.
PS ignore the quality of the mask, I was trying to get a grasp on the puff paint
