The Amazing Spider-Man (reboot) movie discussion

Trailer Confirms: THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Changes Spidey’s Origin
I speculated this when I watched the trailer, but this article confirms it. The article contains minor SPOILERS, but if you have seen the new trailer and pondered on it, you might have gotten the hint by now. Another popular superhero movie also went in this same direction with its origin.

Personally I am really annoyed by this change in origin, hopefully rest of the movie will over shadow it. Though this origin change is very different, it still reminds me of J. Michael Straczynski's issues of The Amazing Spider-Man which though dealt with good character moments, ruined Spidey's origin with too much destiny crap along with that Spider-Totem storyline.

Vivek, that is indeed a disappointment. I Prefered the blind chance scenerio rather than destiny. Not a deal killer, but a disappointment for sure.

Trailer changed my mind. I will see this.

Just my two cents but generally blind chance is considered really weak storytelling because the motivation is not as strong. This story will be much more engaging simply because the character is more intricately woven into the conflict.

I agree that changing the mythos of how Spider-Man was created is questionable, but at the end of the day a great story is a great story so I'm excited to see how it all pans out

Watching the trailer last night I noticed a lot of Alex Ross influence in some of the scenes of Spidey with Gwen.

Great ...another ****ing origin story.

And changing, that even worse.

Why do the even waste time with it? Director's ego.

If you live in America and don't live under a rock you know who freakin' Spider-Man is already.
