The Amazing Spider-Man (reboot) movie discussion

The new suit is growing on me.

The suit is starting to grow on me too. But I agree with one of the earlier posters--some of the poses for this guy in the suit are just too over the top. Please don't let Spidey walk around like he used to on "The Electric Company" or that Godawful 70's tv show.

Oh look, it's a Koopa Trooper.

I was hoping his face would be more aligator like. Oh well. Just a concept design that will hopefully be tweaked.

I still think the suit looks like garbage (and I am extremely lenient on evolving interpretations of costumes and consider myself openminded). The big problem is the black ratio in the weave or recessed honeycomb or whatever the heck is going on. It just makes him look filthy (kinda like 'Dark' Supes in Superman 3).

:thumbsdown

I REALLY hope that's a pic of Connors maybe halfway through the transformation... I can understand not wanting to lose the actor's expressions, but come on...

Edit: actually, the look would be PERFECT for Killer Croc, but not so much for the Lizard =(

I really like that they are referring to the original comic book itself (skinny High School kid, Gwen, physical vs organic webshooters)

The poses deliberately highlight that attempt to refer to the comic. These photos look like they were pulled out the comic panels and literally copy the illustrations.

I was at the SDCC panel back in July. Waited several panels just to see the Spidey reboot panel. I like that the action sequences will be more stunt work/physically grounded rather than CGI.

Based on what I saw and heard from the panelists, I think they made good choices and compromised for the best and it will probably be overall far better than the previous Spidey movies.

As for the suit, looks like they went Alternate Universe style, instead of classic. I prefer that they chose something closer to the old school suit, but I'm ok with this new version.

I think the new suit looks great! How come the decided to do a reboot anyway? I mean I know Spiderman 3 wasnt great =/ just hope they get to the venom and carnage stuff in the new ones!

Smart move by Sony not to let the Spidey movie franchise die. Look at what Warner Bros did with the reboot of the Batman franchise. Mucho dinero for Sony Pictures if they craft this the right way as WB did for Christian Bale's version.

I hope not, all those carnage clones I never got into - it marks the end of my collecting of comics. I always liked how Spidey the underdog faced off evil threats on his own by himself. He once got smashed up to death by Juggernaut but never quit. The guy went through an entire building just to try to scrape Spidey off his back!

My first comic I ever bought had Spiderman vs Electro in it. Probably only .60 cents on newsprint compared to the $2 or more they want nowadays. Anyway that 1 Spidey comic had me hooked. In the course of battle, Spidey always had some wisecrack thing to say to the badguy.

Anyway, I would always take my allowance and ride my bicycle when I was a kid every end of the month to the corner pharmacy to look for the next issue which led me to X-men, Daredevil, Ironman etc.

Comics are a movie goldmine - thats why the Studios keep going to Comic-Con.

Untold story, huh? Does that mean we don't have to suffer through yet another origin story? I swear to god you could just skip every third comic because all it does is rehash how he got his powers.
