The Amazing Spider-man 2 - 3D Print Files/Pattern - FREE

Hi mr kenlandrum i must say that your work is great, and giving it away for free is awesome too, ive been wanting a spiderman suit since the first sam raimi movie, i tought i could give it a shot with the files you posted, but i have an issue, i think is more of a error on my part. i see the jpg and the psd, i would like to print my suit with muscles so i choose the psd, i learn how to resize it from raidentyler's tutorial... now when i change the mode to cmyk(cymk?) then i save it to jpg so i can upload it to FOD, i dont know why the colors change and i would like some advice on how to keep them more vivid, heres a screenshot of how my jpg turned out.

The color change you are seeing is due to the file being in CMYK (4 color process). Your computer monitor uses RGB (3 color process) and therefor is unable to accurately display the colors.

Short answer: there is NOTHING you can do to make a CMYK file as "bright" as an RGB file when looking at it on your monitor.

Try printing both the RGB and CMYK versions of the file, and see how big a difference there is in the output. Usually it's not much, because CMYK on your monitor is trying to "fake" how ink will look on paper, and RGB on your printer comes out actually looking like ink on paper... since that's what it is.
If your test prints come out looking OK when compared to each other, then you have nothing to worry about.

I would ask for a sample from FOD if you are concerned, or wait until they show you the proof.

Alright files updated and cmyk mode enabled

On the left is my first 3rd version or first version using kens file that I tweaked up and edited a bit. And on the right is the second version that should when printed produce almost replicate suit colors. Should hit the nail on the head, I just missed it with the first version it being a bit darker.

Produced this, almost there color wise just a bit darker than the movie suit.

Actually gotta grab kens updated file that fixed the issues with the web overlapping, so gonna do that and apply my editing to the new file.
Ken by any chance in your revised files in the main post did you change/tweak the blue at all?
Applying the same tweaks and edit on the new file and my colors well aren't coming out the same.

I love the color scheme. Very dark, similar to the movie suit in person.

I know, I love the outcome its just a tad bit darker then the movie. Main concern is the blue is a bit darker, and the red is just slightly off. So hopefully with my updated pattern I achieve the right scheme.

Edit:
Ahh finally fixed the pesky overlapping webbing, the new revised print of kens colors wont match my color I have for my pattern when I apply my edits to it. I was going to just use that file since it was all fixed but since the colors wont come out how I wanted I decided to just fix my current version. So the webbing on the arm that overlapped onto the blue is now fix took me about 45 minutes but its done now. :D

Alright better head off to bed now, exhausted.
Just comparing now, my next print is going to be either or I'm not sure yet. Since they do print out darker, I feel if right pattern prints out a bit darker it'll achieve a closer screen accurate red. If by any chance it doesn't print out darker or a tiny bit, the one of the left may be better. Or just lighten the left one a smidge bit more.

I never fixed any overlapping webbing... I don't recall there ever being a problem with that.
Anyway, yes on the newest jpg I upped the saturation of the blue AND red.

There was, on the suit I printed out another member mentioned it, and I noticed it on the pattern after that. Maybe I moved it over when I was first playing around with it and it was my fault.
Figures why the colors weren't coming out the same. Great work ken

Hello everyone, sorry for my english I'm from Brazil and new to the forum.
Congratulations on your kenlandrum work is really amazing!
I have a doubt, what size of Faceshell? I want to print but I have no experience with 3d models, and the price of print here in Brazil is very high, so I can not make a mistake. thank you

Instruction can be found by searching:
"resizing faceshell"

Thank you kenlandrum, but I have no programs to open models.
Actually I only need the size of eyeFrames according to faceshell
but anyway I'll search. Thanks :)
the eye frames are already sized to fit the shell as it is. If u resize the shell just do the exact same thing to the eye frames.
