The adventures of SPACEMAN SPIFF! My Calvin and Hobbes model

I had some downtime for the last two days waiting on parts to print and more filament to arrive. I thought I would tackle one of my favorite childhood memories. Calvin and Hobbes. It just started as me wanting to model the ship for his Spaceman Spiff character. Then I felt a void that needed to be filled. So I sculpted a little Spaceman Spiff to sit in the ship. So I figured why not build it. It is a quick 3-4 day (assuming everything goes well) print and build. I am going to have a different company print out the Spaceman Spiff for me. So I thought I would create this build log to showcase my progress.

I am printing out the upper part of the ship right now in PETG, a filament I am just trying for this build, and it is going superb. I figure I can have all the parts printed by the end of the weekend and get it assembled and painted within the week. It will be about a month before I can get my Spaceman Spiff figurine in and painted. The canopy will have to be cast and molded in a clear resin as well.

Looking sharp, one question though. Isn't Spiff a little too small for the spacecraft? I remember him taking up more of the cockpit.

I've considered making him larger just so he is easier to print. Yeah, I kind of thought that he looks to small. I'll probably play around with his size a bit till I get it where I like it as he is the last thing I have to work on when I do the build.
