BTW I visited the Christies' lots for the upcoming Star Trek auction... there's a room set up like the bargain rack at Barney's... just hundreds and hundreds of outfits on hangers.
No photography but I got to inspect the TOS and even Cage outfits. As in actually HANDLE and touch.
The lightweight velour material felt and looked just like an actual screenused Kirk shirt, which I inspected a few years back.
General Mayhem's replica that he made for me is pretty darn close, even in COLOR. Which really does look mustardy yellow and NOT green. LOL
I noted that the rank braid strips were only ONE CENTIMETER wide, which is narrower than on my replica braid. Close but not completely identical.
One of the "purple" Science tunics in the auction has got the correct "blue" material visible INSIDE the collar. This piece was supposedly one of the original Cage costumes that was modified for series.
I note that the TMP "Lt. JG" rank stripes, had a wavy strip EVEN on the half-stripe "dashes". Bizarre.
DeForest Kelley's TMP "belt buckle" life signs monitor was loose; it was very thin vacformed plastic.
Inspected several WOK style jackets. Color varied from deep marooney brick red, to a lighter BRIGHT "blood red". I guess the lighter color was used in later films. The Delta-shield Starfleet chest badge looked pretty much identical to the J Kerezman replica I showed a few months ago, tho there were other ones as well (painted not dark bronze, but GOLD. So I guess both kinds are accurate after all)
