TFA Stormie Armor

They look great, but are they heavy?

Not that I would notice but yes, they're slightly heavier than abs armor.

Man, that's looking good. There does seem to be a difference in shape between your shoulder armor and the reference photo though.

Perhaps a tad longer? I also think my daughter didnt tape it on center. This is why I have these pics taken to properly see how much they differ and if they're a tad bigger, then they could probably be trimmed.

If you plan on selling I would be extremely interested in a partial kit. Just forearms, shoulder bells, chest, and possibly the back if it matches up with the new Tie Pilot.

Would this be something you could offer?

It could be the placement. What it looks like to me is that your bell curves more gradually and gracefully whereas the screen suits have a little bit more of a squared-off look at the top curve.

I think I got what you meant and is now with my worker for another revision. Thank god, shoulder bell is only 1 mold :) I could also incorporate the lip as part of the mold.

Thanks for the support Eco :)

Small update:
Front abdominal armor plate mold done. Produced a a fiberglass copy. New shoulder bells - this time incorporating the lip/lift into the mold. Too bad as I cant show these pieces with a bit of white paint as we're currently under a typhoon and its been raining the past few days.

That all looks great. I dig the lip on the bells and wish I could see another bell comparison shot.

Will do after we get some paint on it :)

I got a sample of a cloth gasket from my tailor. This may actually help the bicep armor from slipping down, or unless a strap to shoulder.

Typically, since our prototypes are just made out of cardboard and bondo - they are discarded after being molded. During the last typhoon, I took pity on the helmet and decided to resurrect it back. A gutted ANH stunt helmet is still embedded inside which I used as a base so its probably fitting if I take it beyond the tk and attempt a Capt. Phasma perhaps :)
Anyway, below are pics of how I resurrected it back to form..........

Update:

Kidney and thigh armors molded. Pulled fiberglass copies from those.
Kidney armor was adhered to the front abdominal armor to form a complete loop before it was cut in the middle so it could be worn. For production purposes, we will keep both separate to make it more 'custom fitted' to other body types.

Update:

Basically, all parts are just held on using masking tape - so please excuse how I present the pics below. There are only 3 remaining parts left to be molded - butt armor, thermal detonator and belt boxes. They will be finished by next week :)
The thermal detonator in the pics below is still in cardboard/prototype form, but naturally will look the same after being molded. I just thought I'd include it in the pics.
Apologies for the barefoot appearance - hopefully my new tfa boots will arrive by next week.

You look great man, You are a very talented sculptor and I think you have nailed it, it's only going to look more refined as you get all the strapping put together, great job.

Thank you sir!

It was an uneasy feeling posing for those pics ........... as I was feeling the masking tape slowly loosing its grip :D Thank goodness nothing fell to the floor this time :)

Looking really good Mardon. What are you going to do about the holster on the thigh?

Thanks Todd! :)

Holster is done and is in post #23 on page 1 of this thread. The holster is part of my 'greeblie' set and along with the locking greeblies they will be molded after the major parts are done. When the costume is done I'll focus back on the blaster and will probably integrate a "T" system to lock the blaster onto the holster. From what I can tell, it seems like how a wall speaker hangs from a wall - a keyhole and a "T" system just like a big screw.

The holster platform is already integrated as part of the right thigh mold.
