TFA Snowtrooper Ultimate Build!

Holy Crap this is impressive, Makes me wish we saw more of them in the movie! Apparently there's a snow speeder chase on the cutting room floor

Here's the finished helmet! 2 hours of wet sanding and hand buffing the dome alone, and that's just the outside! Spent the same amount of time on the underside.

I've updated my thread pics if you are interested.
Re: FORCE AWAKENS TROOPER PICS (from STAR WARS EXHIBITION in NEW YORK)

Incredible, that helmet is the best ive seen infact it looks like it just came from the set!

How is that even possible...? There's just no word to describe the perfection of this one. I honestly first thought it was 3D renders of a v2 for the helmet, and then realize it was an actual physical, handleable, mind-blowing prop!

UPDATE! Got the duster finished! Not an easy task! Took me about a week. Refining the pattern took some time. I went though 2 different types of foam for the batting. First I tried 1/4" white foam, worked ok but was a bit too thick, then I went with 1/8" foam from Joann's, worked perfect! Once I had it made and the first time I had it all sewn together, the back wasn't curling around properly and the vent in the back was sticking out at the bottom - so...I added some darts on the inside liner to pull the shape around to the back, now it's perfect! There are 4 different fabrics in this duster plus the foam. I'll post a picture of the different layers here or in the next post. Now it's on to the pants!

Here are some pics of the finished duster. I also just printed the chest piece so it's just welded and unfinished. It fits quite loose on my mannequin dude, fits better on me. This guy has a very short torso and long legs, go figure. Just used a piece of foam for a makeshift belt for now. My dude has no head so the helmet is just sitting on top of hes neck! Ha!

Amazing work. What are the 4 fabrics in the duster used for?

Just used to build the correct look and feel. I use an off white material under the outer layer to tone down the white outer layer because even with the whitest paint, the pure white fabric will always be brighter and whiter. Makes the paint look yellow when right next to it in certain lighting. You can use the outer fabric on the inside if you like but I'd rather use a more solid fabric as a liner.
