Testor Paint questions/comments - insider

How about a 'starship Enterprise' gray. TOS Ent of course, that color is one tough nut to crack without custom mixing.

Just a note on Testors dull cote; if it doesn't yellow immediately, it will in time. All of the models and props I have painted using Testors dull have yellowed.

Post script: Thanks for taking our suggestions, rad1701.

Non stick polyethylene bottles and caps.

Paint should bead up and flake off of the bottle instead of turning into superglue.

Also adding additional length to the necks of the bottles so that it would allow you to add thinner for airbrushing without having to pour the paint into another bottle.

The Dull Coat system will react more with light over time. For the best results, try and keep anything you use this on out of the light - especially any sunlight. Perhaps try one of the other clear systems Testors makes. I agree about the bottles and cap situation. I have a pair of pliers on my art table at home just for that! Packaging isn't really my area, but I'll pass on the comments.

I have been using Testors paint since I was about 5 years old and put my first Aurora Allosuar kit together with my Mom , I love the stuff ,If I had any wishes , these would be it :

1. A fine surface primer like Tamiyas , Testors spray primer is thicker and subdues details , Tamiyas is fantastic but very expensive !

2. as others have said , BIGGER spray cans !!! I do a lot of 1/6th Military vehicles and buying 12 cans of Duklegleb can break the bank ..

3. please don't ever change the Enamel formulas , they are my favorite for airbrushing , I hate Acrylics .

4. Bigger bottles for some base colors like Black and OD green , and Panzer Yellow and such , it really is great for mixing consistent batches for airbrushing large projects , I will sometimes use the old Large floquil bottles to make batches of paint , or the big dullcote bottles as well .

5. this one may be impossible , but it would be great to have a direct from the manufacture (Testors Online Store) , its sometimes hard to get some of the more exotic colors from local hobby stores , and I have had to wait a month or 2 from some online sources to get what I wanted , it would be nice to have a direct source to buy from .

Keep up the great work and a fantastic product !! Thanks for asking us for ideas ! (y)thumbsup:thumbsup

You may also want to re-think the spray can nozzle that you guys use if you already haven't. I can't even count how many times that thing got clogged up while I was painting with a new can (part of the reason why I had started to use Dupli-Color automotive paint instead).
