Terminator - Sarah's polaroid

I know the creases and burns aren't accurate, but I didn't have time to do 'em in the house before flying down to the 'con so I winged it when I got there with the aid of a fellow UKCM member's ciggie break ;)

Linda was surprised and well chuffed when she saw what I was asking her to sign for me!
Yay!

I tweaked the image in Photoshop a bit ( I think I got the source image from someone on here? Thanks, if so! ) and had it printed at the local pharmacy, so it's not just an inkjet effort.

Bravo! Congrats and great job!:thumbsup What a great and unique prop for your collection.

It's neat what some stars are tickled to see.

Once at Dragon Con, Peter Jurasik (Londo from B5) was there. I had walked past his table a few times, noticed that all the pics he sold for signing were basically of Londo. Remembering he was also in Tron, I looked around for something affordable to get him to sign. When I placed it in front of him he looked surprised for a second and then smiled big.

I did, however, ask him to sign it Londo-esque. "To my good, dear friend...." :lol

eddit for speeling errurs...

Very nice... a Polaroid wouldn't have been very hi-res anyway. If you have it such that the image is fuzzy without being grainy, you're set!

I was just noticing the photo as it appears in "Salvation".. it seems to be cropped differently! :lol

I don't have a still of that to compare. Here is how it looks in T1 vs T2.

In the DVD extras for T1 you get a clean frame of what they say is the polaroid.. but the dog is turned the wrong way! :lol

Perhaps the movie prop is actually made with this frame, plus a different frame of the dog pasted in. So possibly this is the source image of Linda for the prop.

I'm looking at my copy of the picture. (which is slightly higher resolution than what's posted here) She's obviously making the same expression in both, but I truly think they are two different photos from the same sequence of shots. The german shepard just had a chance to turn his head in the second version.

Plus, if you look really closely, there are very minor differences in the shadowing on her face between the two.

Regardless, that's a great prop you've added to the collection, Reverend Scapegoat!

That other picture with the dog makes me smile :) It takes away all that sadness that the "original" picture have.

If they had used that maybe the scene under the bridge would play out like this
REESE:
John Connor gave me a picture
of you once. I never knew
why. It was very old. Torn.
Faded. You were young, like
you are now. You weren't
smiling...just a little sad...
But the dog in the background
was smiling and looked happy.
I always wondered what that dog
were thinking at that second.

:lol

LOL! Very good!

Heh.
Thanks!

And aye - The "LOL! WIND IS GOOD! CAN I HAVE SOME FOOD NOW? WOOF! OOH! BALL!" doggie does kinda ruin the mood ;)

It's more likely that the prop was just a real photo taken on set at roughly the same time that shot was filmed. Sarah of course could keep still for the camera but the dog wouldn't listen LOL!

Thanks for posting the frame by the way :)

IIRC, the polaroid from T2 was the real one from the first film, not a duplicate, that was found in an Orion prop box. Considering the wear, tear and eventual destruction of the prop in the first film, I'd gather that the original photo was never seen in T1, hence the differences in cropping.

Can you please post it here? I was looking for a Hi-res version...

EDIT: Both frames, then I would try to make a composite to match the prop...

I think he mentions it in the T2 commentary to be the other way around, since they burned the original in T1, they had to find a duplicate and have it reprinted for T2. I can check later today.

I believe what was found in the files was a negative or large print of the source photo for the Polaroid prop, not a Polaroid itself. (It's doubtful the pic was actually taken with a Polaroid.)

That's what it looks like to me. Plus, the camera angle and Linda Hamilton's expression are just a hair different in the two photos. I'm betting the two were taken seconds apart based on the similarities, though.

At any rate, what a cool thing to get signed!
