Terminator: Genisys

In that case, the movie will need this...

The only thing more embarrassing than old Terminator is old Terminator doing a gimmick for Jimmy Fallon.
He almost could have made up for it if he punched through Fallon's chest and pulled his still beating heart out.

Because earlier Terminator films were pure of spirit, done with no cross promotional advertising whatsoever. They existed in a pure, untainted bubble of "art." /sarc/

Pretty cool. Arnold was wearing a Terminator 2 style jacket on The Tonight Show last night.

and the TG pick ups are happening at Paramount so there you go, Arnold in T2 era. Since they already gave it away in the trailer, the second time machine set has been partially rebuilt along with the large version on a small scale as well. Ive heard a private collector has already purchased some sets. Makes me wonder if they are going to Japan.

Terminator has just been diluted so much and watered down, its kind of left a bad taste for many.

I mean T1 and T2 were done with care and attention.

T3, Salvation and now TG are just watered down cash grabs. You kind of lose the magic of what made those first two movies special. The horror, the SFX, the uniqueness.

Now this new movie is so watered down, you will barely see any blood because apparently its too dangerous for audiences to see such things.

That's what happens when the only people going to the movies is teenagers so you have to keep it PG13. It's also why you keep seeing "unedited" editions, they film the thing as an R rated for dvd then water it down for the teenagers.

As if the ratings are keeping teens from seeing R-rated movies. I'm sure for a teen that can pull himself away from an Xbox game where he is running around stealing cars, massacring police, and decimating cities, an R-rated movie is calming in comparison.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, period, is so overdone it's laughable.

For all its shortcomings, Salvation had the right idea on handling the Arnie issue. The franchise needs to distance itself from old-Arnie. Give the audience some very brief doses of young-Arnie (in pure evil terrifying form), and that's it. Nothing else they could do with Arnie now will live up.

and when you thought things couldn't get any worse, this happened,
Chronicle Collectibles(known for their AMAZING ED-209 and RoboCop 2) who's got the license for selling the new endo skuls posted these:

Gens1.jpgGens17.jpgGens18.jpgGens19.jpgGens20.jpgGens12.jpgGens11.jpgGens10.jpgGens2.jpgGens3.jpgGens4.jpgGens5.jpgGens6.jpgGens7.jpgGens8.jpgGens9.jpgGens21.jpgGens13.jpgGens14.jpgGens15.jpgGens16.jpg

Removing details, changing stuff that don't need changing. I have seen a lot better changes and what-not on this forum :facepalm

Will Chronicles be producing the T2 skull as well because that TG skull is a turd.To an avid Terminator fan the details are just so glaring on the TG. :(

I'm not seeing a problem with the new one. I'd say they're sticking relatively very close to the old designs, especially considering that T2 is almost 25 years old now, and T1 over 30 years old. I think it's a bit unreasonable to expect them to just cast the old one and call it a day.

Well when you've loved a design for so many years then the changes are glaring. Imagine taking the Mona Lisa and making her nose a little longer and her ears a little different in shape. Maybe give her different shaped eyes and a slightly different smile. It's not the same anymore. Personally I don't understand why they didn't just use the old one. Every other movie did.And what does it matter that the design is 20-30 years old it's iconic. T1 and T2 are old but I bet you this movie will suck ass compared to them.Im willing to give it a chance but so far I see nothing that really peaks my interest especially the endo.

Wow, the hate is strong in some people. I love the T2 design, but I also love the TG design. The T2 has serious anatomical issues, however, that make it essentially difficult to believe it could fit in a human being. The TG one is scaled that it could fit inside a human being, and have the mobility and flexibility of a real person. For example, tell me how the T2 design could ever blend over or bend it's neck. It simply can't, it's spine and neck are blocks sitting on top of each other. The TG endo, however, has actual pivoting and functioning spine and neck. It's more organically designed, also, completely designed in CAD and grown from 3D printers. That means not only is it more precise, it's got perfect mirroring instead of the somewhat wonky lopsidedness of the T2 skull from sculpting by hand. The TG is simply more elegant and believable, regardless of what some people seem to think.

Look at that neck, clearly more functional than the T2 neck.

Ha give me hand sculpted over 3D printed anyday. Besides I'm not hating it I'm just expressing my distaste for a design I hold dear to me. I'm sure you have designs in props you wouldn't want messed with. Hate is a very strong word and honestly requires too much effort for something that is a hobby and meant to be fun.

Just wanted to add that the only thing I liked about T3 and TS was the terminator effects.

The original was designed to fit inside Arnie

And the old ones are still superior:

It looks more blocky and a bit cartoony.
The teeth look more like the crappy ones seen on Sideshow's endo skull.

Yeah, the T-800 in those films is the only thing that is "Terminator" in those.

Drives me nuts that even Arnold screwed up the Terminator make/model system in T3. He said "that was a different T-101". He's not a T-101! :facepalm He's a MODEL 101.

Anyway, the T-800 in TS was massive. Way too big.

Way too big, and way too powerful. One can easily summarize everything after T2 with :facepalm
