Terminator Endo - How-to rejuvenate fading chrome paint job?

Hi all!

Ive built a Terminator bust a while ago that was posted here: http://www.therpf.com/f9/my-endo-terminator-t-800-bust-project-171982/

Since, I feel the paint has lost it's chrome aspect and has kinda faded out. It's now a little dull...

Does anyone know how I could rejuvenate this paint job?
With wax or clear maybe? If so, any tip's and tricks on how to do this?

Any input is welcome!

Thx!

If it's paint, feather-sand and repaint the area. If it's worth it to you, strip and hard-chrome.

For routine cleaning? I find using dry wads of tissue paper (the light stuff used in gift-packing, for instance) actually works quite well. Tissue paper will be less aggressive than notebook paper - by a wide margin - but notepaper works well on hard chrome, hard nickel, and glass (used it in Basic for cleaning water spots off of mirrors and plumbing.)

For anything that wants a bit more polish work, try cotton wadding and cheap toothpaste. It's easy enough to wash off when you're done (since it's water-soluble,) and is a much finer abrasive than most polishes. Plus, there's no ammonia or anything like that to dull the paint. Serious - go to the dollar bin, get cheap-O toothpaste (without the "whiteners" in it,) and make sure it's paste, not gel. (The paste works better.)

Cheap toothpaste also works well as a final lapping/polishing compound on metal - I use it when doing valve jobs on engines, polishing folding knife hinges, or cleaning up action on semiautomatic firearms...
