I think I may have been the pesky fly that spurred M to put those up. I’ve got a nice cosmo’d one as well. And yes, he told me he has absolutely no idea where another Derwent is (after the fifth day straight of me bugging him).

I, on the other hand have found a Mark 9... unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) it is being completely restored and slapped back into an aeroplane when it is finished. And there is no way in Hades this mechanic is going to give any piece of this to us.

And Chris is doing a great job on that restoration. I’ve been following along.

That is very interesting news, teecrooz! VERY interesting. I was blown away by that restoration. The green makes it look pretty amazing too.
The size differenfce between BP’s is pretty startling too.
Marv I sent you an email, my friend!

Thd9791 and Edraven99 I have been thinking about doing one of those too!

I might not get around to having this properly welded back together, but at least it’s on its way here.

Scope, Counter, and long grips already in hand. Now to pick up the other few remaining pieces.

That track is from Todd’s Costumes. For each of my sabers I have a full set of Gino, Roy, and Todd’s grips, so I can pick how pretty I want my grips to be on any given day. :)

Just FYI The original parts weren't welded on. They are soldered on.
You can easily remove all the parts from the main tube with a blow torch. The solder melts. The steel stays hard and solid.
Just heat up the joints and bang the parts with a hammer, or pull them off with pliers. When hot enough, they fall right off. :)

For real, Dan? That doesnt sound too safe. I know it was war and all, but man, I wouldn't have liked that. I wonder if that was common knowledge amongst the soldiers.

I got mine from Numrich Gun Parts I believe Apex has them as well. Do a search for Sterling SMG Parts Kit. Sarge's Military has some nicer ones (judging by the photos) but they cost about twice as much.

A little scary to think about it, but if it works...

I actually bought this one off Carter RoyDeckard. He’s focusing on his real parts PKD.

halliwax My wife got mine from Apex. Beware the included barrel from Apex as it is for a MK7 pistol, and in an undesireable caliber.

Finally found someone who could make me an Old Ben belt. After Dave from saberbelt retired from belt making I gave up hope on an accurate belt. Well, he shared, his research with Kyle from Detrick’s Leather Craft on Facebook. Great guy to deal with and thanks to a blizzard, my belt was done faster than anticipated!

He still had some weathering to do, but it’s looking great and much better than my extra Anovos Luke ESB belt on my mannequin right now.
