Ted Nugent talks drugs, Philip Seymour Hoffman and BRUNO MARS on TMS

Drug free my ass! :lol

No, you are wrong. Just because someone does crazy stuff does not mean they are/were on drugs. If that were the case most of us in this community would be considered junkies by the "normal" crowd.

I love Ted's music but the rest of his agenda doesn't interest me. I have no problem with people owning guns or eating meat (I do both) but his attitude is pretty off putting. I can't stand anyone who thinks they know everything.

Honestly, Ted Nugent is just another loudmouth to me. If he wants to advocate the eating of beef jerky, or how much fun it is to shoot firearms, ok, whatever floats your boat. But outside of that, I just don't see why anything he says really matters any more than, say, the opinions of your average Kardashian.

"OMG! TED NUGENT THINKS BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!"

"Super. My Aunt Jane thinks something different. Takes all kinds to make a world, huh?"

For the record, I'd apply this equally to all celebrities. I mean, ok, say whatever you want to say about this or that issue, but unless you speak with a particular set of insight or authority...why should I care more about what a celebrity has to say than the people Jay Leno would interview on the street?

George Clooney talks about blah. Bruce Willis talks about blah. So what? Unless and until any of these folks actually becomes some kind of expert on the subject, their opinion is no more or less valid than anyone else's. And if they ARE experts, they'd better demonstrate that expertise.

If Ted wants to talk about how he AVOIDED taking drugs, fine. Presumably he's an expert on that subject (although that may be challenged by some). But as far as Ted's understanding of how to KICK drugs...yeah, I don't think he's got much to say. I'd rather hear from Steven Tyler or David Bowie or Stevie Nicks. Those folks all kicked their respective habits (supposedly), so I'd expect they'd speak with far more authority on the subject of staying clean after being addicted than Ted "I never touch the stuff" Nugent. By the same token, unless they've actually gone shooting/hunting, I don't really give a crap what those other stars would say about whether to use this or that load for a firearm or bow when hunting big game -- I'd trust The Nuge first.

I highly doubt that a person who ran around stage wearing a loin cloth and shooting flaming arrows with his guitar was drug and alcohol free.
I also doubt this thread would have been started if Ted had talked about anybody else besides PSH.

There are several off the wall rockers who are drug and/or alcohol free

Frank Zappa for example. His "drugs" of choice were no more than caffeine and nicotine

Gene Simmons lives a pretty "drab" existence for a rock star as well, and he doesn't even touch alcohol, let alone any drugs

As far as Ted, he is very opinionated. I just don't agree with most of them. I like he his music, but usually skip out when he goes on his rants

:lol I would advise you to do a little more research :lol

I am not saying he is "On drugs" for acting crazy.

I am saying he HAS BEEN ON DRUGS from people who have toured with him.

What gets me is him saying he has been drug free yadda yadda yadda! :rolleyes

Don't even get me started on his tendicies for young and I mean YOUNG teen-age girls.

Uncle Ted indeed!

Regardless Ted is a total tool and a scumbag to boot!

That and was on speed for a week.

My hero :rolleyes

Didn't 'The Nuge' crap his pants on purpose to get out of the draft?

(lets keep politics off the board, please?)
For the record I think Ted is a loud mouth D-bag, even when I agree with his opinion (sometimes I do :rolleyes), however if he ever came near my daughter I'd show Mr. Rock-n-Roll tough guy how a Stranglehold REALLY works. ;)

Yeah, but you'll have to find time to do that between attacking barricaded oil refineries and shooting out the tyres of fleeing muscle cars with your wrist-mounted crossbow. ;)

Psh- talent+intelligence+crippling addiction. So sad. But let's not forget that a man is not made from just one part of his life. His extreme talent is the aspect of psh that shines most bright for me.

Re: Ted Nugent talks drugs, Philip Seymour Hoffman and sobriety on TMS

Agreed. I also learned early not to do what the "cool" kids were doing, because most of them were idiots.

Your a avatar is William Shatner smoking a joint...

Irony.

Anyone watch the Saturday night episode of THAT METAL SHOW with Ted Nugent?

Now anyone who knows "uncle Ted", knows he is not one to hold back on his thoughts. He is in your face with his opinions and does not sugar coat anything :lol

Well the subject of drugs came up, and they asked him how he stayed sober and drug free for 65 years, especially having played through the late 60's and 1970's. He then proceeded with his answer...

"I learned at an early age to do this..." (And he proceeded to give the bird in the air)
He said he learned to tell those who wanted to pressure him, to **** OFF!!
"Oh you want me to do something that will make me drool, vomit, and them die? Give me an ice pick and I'll just stab myself in the d***!"

He then said...." We can then go watch a new PSH movie".

He did then turn around and say that PSH was a talent but that he became another Hollywood statistic and that it didn't have to be if he had the balls to just tell people to **** OFF!!!

He then proceeded to talk about who his favorite new bands are:
He loves Green Day, Foo Fighter, but above all HE LOVES BRUNO MARS.

Gotta love Ted!!! :lol
He speaks his mind!

I have more than once written him in as my vote for president, mayor, governor what have you.

Had this on the DVR, just got around to watching it. I will have to give credit where credit is due, it was a good show. They kept the topic on the MUSIC!! Other than about 20 seconds of Ted saying he didn't do drugs, there was no talk of politics or all that other crap Ted seems to spew these days. He made a few jokes about hunting but there was no "gotta kill it to grill it" done. The show stayed true to its theme and it was all about the music. For that I give it props. I love That Metal Show and this was a good one. Ted was fun and jovial and left his political views at the door. As far as a TMS show I give it thumbs up.
